MOVIE WEDNESDAY: The Women

I was really looking forward to this movie because
it was starring Meg Ryan. I decided not to read
any of the reviews and the only thing I new about
this was it was based on an original and also no
men appear in the movie. Any other info I knew was
based on what was shown on the previews.

I thought it was O.K. ~ I just wished that Debra
Messing and Jada Pickett Smith had more to do ~
what a waste of their talent.

Meg Ryan ... as always ... adorable.

9 to 5: The Musical

Wednesday is usally movie night, but I got free
tickets to 9 to 5: The Musical and was happy to
have theatre night instead.

It was amazing!!

Megan Hilty (from Wicked) was FANTASTIC as Doralee,
Im sure she made Dolly Parton proud.

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: Hamlet 2

This movie had some really funny moments, and there
were the really corny moments. But I'm glad that I
actually watched it.

The only thing that annoyed me was that David Arquette
could have more dialog and why did he had to be the guy
that left with the wife. Elizabeth Shue was funny as
herself as well.

It was slow paced as times ... and I wished they
actually showed more of the musical scenes. I don't
know if I'll buy this for my collection, but I would
not mind if I got it as a GIFT.

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: Vicky.Cristina.Barcelona

Vicky.Cristina.Barcelona

I was planning on watching HAMLET 2 today, but because
I had plans later on, had to catch a earlier movie. The
only one available at 4:00pm was VICKY, CRISTINA, BARCELONA.

I love Woody Allen films, so I didn't mind going to
see this movie, and HAMLET 2 next week.

I thought this movie was alright. I liked MATCH POINT much
better. Woody Allen must really like Scarlett Johansson to
put her in this movie too.

I thought that it's kinda strange that Rebecca Hall (Vicky)
isn't even in the movie poster ... but Penelope Cruz is.
Maybe its because she wasn't par of the "threesome" ~

Overall, if you're a Woody Allen fan, go out and see
this movie. If not, it is still worth a DVD rental.

90210

90210

I was a fan of the original series ... was looking forward to see
how this new version will be like ... and ... from the words of
someone's post:

It was "CRAPTASTIC"

It wasn't great ... BUT it wasn't bad either.

Things That I Enjoyed Watching:
1. Brenda & Kelly Reunion
2. Nat still in the Peach Pit
3. The Hannah Zuckerman-Vazquez "moment"

Things That Annoyed Me:
1. The NEW Peach Pit
2. The Acting
3. Some characters (Naomi & Adrianna)

I could go on ... but what for!! I'm probably going to
watch next week ... just to see Kelly's mom ... and
maybe get some more "history" of the characters.

Unless the writers create something "magical" like
Brenda-Dylan in these characters and storylines,
I won't be watching.

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: The House Bunny

The House Bunny

Okaaay ... so I really don't know why I went to see this
movie. Just that I "needed" to see a movie today, and
since it was a comedy ... "why not"

There was "some" funny scenes ... but the writing
and acting annoyed me. EXAMPLE: Katherine McPhee
DID NOT HAVE TO BE IN THIS MOVIE (AND HER CHARACTER)

So this kinda "stupid-funny" movie is something
you should wait until the DVD to comes out ~

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: Brideshead Revisited

Brideshead Revisited

I've never read the book.
I've never heard of some of the actors.
I had no idea what the subject-storyline was about.

I just wanted to watch a movie today (my wednesday ritual),
and this was the only thing that seemed "interesting".

When I gave my AMC MOVIE WATCHERS card, I was happy
that on top of my free WEDNESDAY POPCORN, I was also
entitled to a free drink. Lucky me!!

Now about the movie ~ hmmm ~ I really dont know how
I can comment about this ... I didnt think it was
AWFUL ... maybe it ran long ... somewhat bored at
times. But I guess it was a "good" movie .. sort of ~

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: Swing Vote

Swing Vote

I wasn't sure I would like this movie, after watching MUMMY RETURNS
last week, without reading reviews ... etc ... I didn't want to feel
like I've wasted my Wednesday ~

BUT I REALLY ENJOYED THIS MOVIE!!

The script was well written!! Loved the Acting!!

I had a feeling that the movie was going to end in a
particular way .. and it did ... and Im glad it was
what i thought.

This might possibly be part of my DVD collection!

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: The Mummy Returns

Mummy Returns

I think I should have read reviews of this movie
before I watched it (or would not have watched it),
but I was GRAVELY disappointed!!

There are several things that I wish was changed:
1. WHY CHANGE EVIE (to MARIA BELLO)
2. THEY HAVE A 20-SOMETHING SON (which make they how old?)
3. THOSE MOUNTAIN "MONSTERS" (i forget what they are called)

The storyline was "blah" ~ the action was "OK" ~ the only
thing that I enjoyed was seeing MICHELLE YEOH AND RUSSELL WONG!!

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: Get Smart

Get Smart

I wasn't sure if I really wanted to pay $9.50 for
this movie ... but we watched everything else that
was out ... and I really wanted to see a movie today,
so ... GET SMART ... was the only "interesting" choice.

I actually enjoyed the movie ... only 3 of us in
the theatre ... ofcourse ... this movie was out
for awhile!!

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: The Dark Knight

Dark Knight

This was a FANTASTIC MOVIE!!

I could go on and on but you just HAVE to see
it to enjoy yourself!

I loved to hate the joker!! Heath Ledger was
fantastic!

I needed to use the restroom about 30 more minutes
until the movie was over ... but I just HELD "it"!!
I found out that the theatre sold VITAMIN WATER for
$1.00 for "AMC Movie Watcher" members, I just drank
too much with my popcorn and Bunch Crunch ... had to
have my usual movie snacks!!

Anyways...GO OUT AND SEE THIS MOVIE!! Don't even
think about going on a restroom break...you'll miss
alot...every minute was worth it!

Mamma Mia!

Mamma Mia

I absolutely loved this musical!! Will most definitely buy
this for my collection.

Thanks to PONDS for the free "Movie Money" tickets!! We had
to go to the ArcLight Cinemas to use the tickets ~ really nice
theatre ... never been there before ... and the popcorn was
worth the price (usually get it free at AMC) ~

Go out and see this ... you'll have a great time!

Movie Wednesday: Hancock

hancock

When I saw the previews of this movie, I thought it
seemed too "over the top" ... but then some of my
friends told me that they actually enjoyed the movie.

I had free movie passes so I didn't mind watching
this without spending anything.

I did infact enjoy this movie!!!

A friend of my told me about the "twist" regarding
Charlize Theron, so I was waiting for the moment
they revealed her super powers.

Anyways ... there are things that I wish were explained,
but I guess the movie was "fine" the way it is.

Movie Wednesday: Wall-E

A friend of mine had told me that he saw
this movie on opening day ... majority of
kids ... and he said they didn't seem too
enthusiastic about the movie.

I decided to watch it today ~ didn't think
it was bad ~ but I wasn't too impressed by
it.

Wall-E (cant make that dot) was cute, and
so was the other robots. There was just
something about the storyline that i felt
lacking.

I'd still buy the DVD ~ just to get the whole
PIXAR collection.

Movie Wednesday: Kung Fu Panda

Photobucket

I decided to sign up for the AMC Movie Watchers
program!!

I finally got the card and the member benefits
information ... Wednesday is "free popcorn" day,
so instead of Movie Mondays ~ I'm going to have
Movie Wednesdays instead. IM SAVING MONEY
NOT PAYING FOR POPCORN. All I need to spend now is
$3.00 for Buncha Crunch. And I have 5 free tickets
so I guess I won't have to worry for a month.

Anyways, I watched Kung Fu Panda and enjoyed it. I really
liked the scene when Panda and Master was dueling for
the last dumpling ... with their chop sticks! Too Cute!!

MOVIE THURSDAY: Sex and the City

I changed my mind about not seeing movie this week.

Watching The Happening on Friday was a "special"
treat ... I just wanted to contribute to the
opening weekend gross.

Anyways, since I was planning on seeing S.A.T.C.
on Monday, but didnt, because I forgt to bring my ID
with me ... I watched it today!!

SPOILER ALERT:

sex and the city

I enjoyed it ... I really thought that the wedding
would never happen. But I'm glad it went the way
the movie ended.

Laughed at the whole Charlotte "pooping" situation ~
Would have wanted more sex from Samantha ~
Hated the separation between Miranda and Steve ~
Cried when Carrie saw her "love letter" emails &
when she and BIG both went to "their" apartment
for one last time ... and the proposal!!

Movie Monday...Not Today

I was planning on watching Sex and the City today,
but I didnt have my ID on me!! Had my credit cards
but no drivers license. I was planning on watching
another movie ~ not R-Rated ~ but since I saw two
movies last week ... it might be best to see the film
next monday.

I wonder if I would have been carded for the R-Rating,
or asked for my ID for paying with a credit card. The
same person seems to be working the Box Office. Once
at the concession stand, I wasn't asked for my ID.

I keep thinking, this is why I would hate to lose my
cards ~ people can just hand over a card and it'll
be swiped!!

So Kudos to the person at the Box Office who asks
me for my ID !!

The Happening - Part 2

Congrats to M. Night Shyamalan!!

$30,500,000 Gross for the weekend!!

I've been reading some reviews over the internet, negative
and positive. I'm not much for gory movies, I usually
feel unsettled with bloody scenes and body parts cut
off ... but with his movie ... I didnt even feel grossed
out when someone was letting lions eat his arms off
(it happens)!!

Anyways ~ M.Night said he made this as a "B-Movie" / so
thats what we got ... a campy "B-Movie" ... which i
really liked. I thought the scene with Marky Mark
talking to a plastic plant was HILARIOUS!! And the
scene with his wife when he said the was flirting
with a pharmacist was funny too.

Not "The Sixth Sense" ~ THANK GOD THAT WILL NEVER BE
DUPLICATED ... BECAUSE THAT WAS A KICK ASS MOVIE!!

CRITICS: Please stop starting your reviews with ..
"the man who wrote-directed sixth sense" ... and just
think of him as a writer-director. That's why you
dont get his movies ... your too busy looking for
a SIXTH SENSE: PART 2, 3, 4, 5 ~ That would be
a real disappointment.

Congrats ... I might actually see this movie again.
