Last month ... I might have convinced one of my co-workers to retire.
He just turned 66 ... and he had been with the company for 30+ years !!
Yes that long.
I kept telling him "I can't believe you still want to work here after all these years!! You're 66 !! Don't you want to do other things in your life?? Don't you want to travel? Don't you want to spend time with your family and friends??
He tells me that he has been with the company for a long time and that it'll be hard not to see everyone almost in a daily basis.
I TOLD HIM ... I WOULD LEAVE IN A HEART BEAT. I'D MISS SOME PEOPLE ... BUT I WOULD RATHER BE RETIRED.
I guess he went to Social Security to fill out some forms ... he told management that he was planning on leaving.
THEN THEY CONVINCED HIM TO WORK AT LEAST 2 DAYS !!!
And he took their offer.
