A New Do
I did it!
I went to Super Cuts and had my haircut!
My hair length went from my "bra line"...to "above my shoulder" !
I was calling around just to see how much this "drastic" haircut
would cost me...some salons quoted me $45!! So I decided to take
a little walk to my neighborhood Super Cuts..the price...$12!
Its a "new do" for a new me!
I definitely STILL do not look 30!

Independent Living
Today marks the SECOND year that I've been living on my own.
No Family .. No Roomates!!
It feels nice to have a place of my own.
Just trying to check inventory of the furniture I purchased
for this independent life:
1A. TV
1B. TV Stand - Free ... giveaway from family
2. Futon Bed - Ikea
3. Computer Desk - Ikea
4. 3 drawer storage - Ikea
5. Bar Stools - Free ... giveaway from family
Yeah ... so I live in a studio .. I'd love to get a 1 bedroom apartment soon.
That would probably be next year. But for now, I'll just enjoy the space I
have. GOOD TIMES!

As You Like It
Thank God for free theatre tickets!
Went to the Ahmanson Theatre to watch
"As You Like It"
I kinda dozed off at one point ... it was getting late
but I loved it!
I'm thinking of either reading it or watching an
adaptation ... still trying to read/watch all things
Shakespeare ~

First Sunday of the Year
I missed Sunday mass today. There goes one of my resolutions for the new year.
I dont know how many times I didnt go to mass in 2004...I feel bad enough about
not going on Christmas.
I pray alot though. I pray that my friends and family will be healthy and safe. I
pray for my own health and safety. I pray that I will have a career writing in TV
soon. I pray for the people affected by the Tsunami. I pray for alot of other things.
If I could only get up earlier in the morning and I could go to a 7:00 or 8:30 mass.
The weather isnt helping either. I think I spend more time walking and waiting for
the bus than going to mass. Thats really sad. I pray that I can get a car soon.
I had to walk across a flooded street tonight. Thank goodness I didnt bring that gallon
of water with me. I also need a bigger umbrella. I need new gloves too. Maybe a new
scarf as well. I pray that it will stop raining soon.
Someone came up to me at work today and said that they've seen me here the whole
week...and asked if I had a day off...I told them that I work SEVEN days. She said
that I should get some rest...too much work isnt good for me.
I dont know why I've been working so much lately...well I guess I do need the money.
I have to save up some money for a plane ticket to the Philippines. I think I saved
enough. Going to the family reunion would be fun ... I guess I should take two
weeks off. This would actually be the first vacation I've had since I started working
two years ago.
I miss my mom too. I wish I called her more often. She always asks what I've eaten
or if I've gone to church. If I've skipped a meal ... or told her I didnt go to church..
she'll be somewhat diappointed and tell me to at least pray or do the rosary. Which
I do ... and she tells me to take vitamins .. which I do. She tell me that when I fly
back to the Phillippines I'm going t have the best time ever and I could eat as much
as I want. I really do miss Filipino food.
I'm just glad I dont have to eat Ramen in a daily basis like my first year on my own.
Now I find myself cooking Chicken Adobo alot, sometimes scrambled eggs
(and Bacon , and Polska), ordering Pizza, or Chinese food. There's always McDonalds.
Right now Im munching on popcorn. I pray that one day I have a really nice kitchen...
l ike the ones you see on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.
Sunday night is one of my favorite nights for watching TV. There's Extreme Makeover and
Desperate Housewives. That would be a wonderful show to write for.
Night is what I wait for on Sunday mornings.
Sunday morning rain is falling
steal some cover share some skin
clouds are shrouding us in moments unforgettable
you twist to fit the mold that I am in
but things just get so crazy living life gets hard to do
and i would gladly hit the road get up and go if I knew
that someday it would lead me back to you

Security Device
I finally received my "free" DVDs from Columbia House.
"Free" meaning I purchased it with my "Fun Cash" that accumulated
buying other DVDs from the Club. I decided to have it shipped to
my work address...so I didnt have to worry about my neighbors getting
a "free" gift this year.
Well, after work I went to the mall to do some after Christmas shopping.
Just as I stepped into Macys ... the alarm went off .. kind of like "DOOT DOOT" .
I realized it must have been the DVDs ... but no security came to haul me away so
I kept walking. Found nothing, so I decided to leave ... once again the familar
"DOOT DOOT" sound went off ... and a sales woman asked me to check my
purse. I guess she saw the box and let me go.
Got home and opened up the package. There was the tape with SECURITY DEVICE
noted. My question is this: Why does Columbia House have to package their DVDs
that they're sending out to peoples home with security devices?? I guess all DVDs are
just packaged like this.
Note to self: Open up package and remove security device before heading out to
shopping mall. Or ... just leave package at home.

The Edge of Reason
Just got back from watching the 2nd Bridget Jones movie.
I finished reading the book about 24 hours ago so the details are still fresh.
I thought it was a "cute" movie ... v. happy that Hugh Grant was in more scenes.
After reading the book I thought that he wasnt going to be shown much.
Somewhat happy that they changed that aspect of the book.
What surprised me was the change in the Rebecca character.
Dont want to spoil some readers who didnt see the movie yet.
V. Weird plot though .... could have gone another way.
Overall .. I did enjoy the movie. But the 1st one is much better.
Will definitely buy the second book ... and get both DVDs as a collection.
Roz Rating : *** 3 stars

Finding Neverland
If you're unsure about what movie to watch tonight, tomorrow, this weekend, or next
week, I recommend "Finding Neverland". Johnny Depp is simply amazing in this movie.
I think the children in this movie were absolutley wonderful...especially Peter and
Micheal. I loved Peter ... especially the scene in the theatre when someone asks him
if he's Peter .. and he points at Johnny Depp and tells them that he's (J.D) Peter.
That's one of my favorite scenes.
Kate Winslet was great too...I cried when she finally saw how Neverland looked.
Bring tissues.

A Day of Rest
Okay...so I'm turning 30 in less than 2 months.
I havent even tried to start reading Shakespheare (see post on "3 Months Until")
I procrastinate soo much...I dont think I should do that when I'm 30.
I just need to keep writing...and writing...and writing.
No more distractions.
No more 7 day a week job.
Must rest my mind with writing.
I want to learn to play the guitar.
I want to learn a new language.
I want a tattoo of "Thumper"
I need a day of rest

Blade 2
Okay ... so I finally saw "Blade II" today ... getting ready to see "Blade Trinity"
tonight.
I never thought I'd be interested in this movie ... but its actually exciting ...
and I was actually cheering on the good guys to beat the crap up of the evil
vampires!
Im just hoping Whistler is really alive for future movies ... hopefully
"Blade Trinity" will be a good one.
