It's been awhile since I've stocked up on Vitamin Water.  I remembered when I wanted to write COPY for the bottles.

Here is a new one they have out.

with vitamin c.  whatever.  the real issue:
it taste like dragon fruit.  where'd it come
from?  why the majestic flavor name? did
king arthur eat dragonfruit?  is there a cave 
in england filled with centaur and unicorn
fruit? your mind just exploded.  huh?

Observe the Sabbath ....

Today in church, I said a prayer that I really ... really wanted something ... so hopefully tomorrow this something might actually happen.

I gathered up all the paperworks I needed for tomorrows appointment ... but then realized that maybe ... just maybe ... I'm asking for something that I can't possibly have ... I need it ... but not as bad as other people might need it.

While I'm enjoying having Sundays off ... I might need to make several changes ... and the possibility of working on Sundays might be in my future.

How To Get Out Of A Rut?

I was clearing some of the clutter on my desk and found a folder full of paperworks for my apartment.  I found a "Increase In Rent" letter ... from May 2009 ... which is my current rent.  I should be happy that my rent hasn't increased in the last four years ... and in March (if I still live here) it will be 10 years in this apartment !!

Sounds impressive ... but also sad ... A LOT OF SADNESS !!

I'd love to move ... I know there are other places that probably cost less ... but I'm just too settled here ... and I'm MAD at myself for being too comfortable.

Squat Challenge

I want a nice booty !!

Starting today ... I will do this "30 Day Squat Challenge" ... 

50 squats done ... and I feel my legs aching :-(

Ha - Low - een

Some people at work dressed up for Halloween.

I didn't.

I remember in past years ... I actually enjoyed dressing up ... but now ... I don't even want to put the effort ... for work even ... HA !!

Anyways ... after work ... I was walking home from the bus stop ... and there were actually a nice turn out of families ... and adults ... going trick or treating in my neighborhood.

One house that I pass daily went all out with a smoke machine and horror "noises" ~ it makes me happy to know there are homeowners that actually enjoy doing this ... they go all out and decorate their homes ... they probably also give out the "good" candies.

If I dressed up for work ... I might have kept whatever costume on ... and gone to this house ... and other houses.

Cosmopolis

This Sunday, I decided to watch Cosmopolis

 

I'm really glad I didn't rent this, or watch it in the movies.  This was sooo AWFUL! 

WORST movie I've seen in a long time.

The 14th Year

Today is the 14th anniversary of my dads death.

I keep thinking he died young.  He was just 60 years old.  Just 17 days shy of his 61st birthday.

I had just read an article about how the age of 65 was too early to retire.  I kinda wish my dad retired at age 60.  Maybe he and my mom would have been able to go on a vacation to Europe.

Maybe if Oct. 19th, 1999 would still have been the day he would die ... he would have still had a year (almost) to be a retired man.

I think about how he would have had time to travel the world.  I could picture my mom and him riding the gondola in Venice, the two of them eating crepes in Paris, the two of them marveling the Sistine Chapel in Rome, and pretending to hold up the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

Some days at work ... I think ... what would my dad do?  I think he worked to hard.  He liked his Jack Daniels and his Benson & Hedges.  I wonder how much longer he would have worked.  Would he have retired at 65??  If he was doing something else ... would he have been less stressed and healthier?

Today marks 10 years and 7 months of me working at JOB ... not at a CAREER.  Everyday I wake up and think ... IS THIS ALL THERE IS??  I feel like if my dad had been alive these past 14 years, he and my mom would have had these fabulous adventures.  He would tell me to QUIT YOUR JOB AND TRAVEL THE WORLD.

Not really sure though.

I think about all these crazy things happening in the world today ... these things might actually have stressed him out & anger him.

Dad ... if you can ... somehow ... during the Super Lotto draw ... find a way for me to win ... and of course several others ... and then I could take that trip around the world ... the trip I wish that you an mom could have had.

I miss you.

Tazo Chai Frappuccino

I decided to get something new .. today was a Tazo Chai ~

 

I decided to SHARE with a co-worker ~ SADLY while trying to put back the lid of my drink ... after pouring half on another cup ... I had a very CLUMSY moment ... and have a VERY SMALL portion to drink.

 

It was delicious .... but ... small portion.

It's Sunday today ... and I keep wondering if all the coincidences happening in my life is coming from God.

First of all ... I really should be thinking of other things rather than what I have been thinking lately while I'm at church.

Sorry God.  Really Sorry.  That's why I've been doing the rosary afterwards.  Sorry.

There are two sides to this.

1.  I think you are telling me ... no.
2.  I think you are telling me ... it is going to be soon, but not today.

I'm just not really sure.  But ... I think I will have some pie with my Mocha Frappe.

Prayers & Wishes

When it's time for silent prayers in church, I sometimes think if

I should just go small.  Then I think .. no I should

"Go Big" ... some days ... I pray that the person next to

me would get their prayers answered ... and I'm hoping

someone else is praying that I get mine too.

Book Requests Granted

A couple months ago after reading Harriet Evans I Remember You, I submitted a "Suggest A Purchase" book request on the LAPL website for three more of her books.

None of her books were available at the Burbank public libraries ... so I figured I might have a better chance since Los Angeles Central Library had three of her books.

I finally did a search again for the books ... and now ... ALL THREE are "On Order" ... possibly available in November.

This makes me really happy.  I love going to the library to borrow books ... I probably would love to be able to purchase every book I've read ... but with my broke status ... and my cubicle studio apartment ... that is not going to happen.

Now If only I win the lottery ... I can open my own bookstore ... and make contributions to the libraries.

Ask ... and ye shall ....

I got something that I wanted.

I kind of felt silly asking for it ... and just when I thought nothing was going to happen ... I guess the Universe came through.

It could be just some kind of coincidence.

But I read somewhere ... maybe coincidences are Gods way of remaining anonymous.

So ... THANK YOU ... and I know now ... even little silly requests are answered.

New Tub !!

After months of a chipped bath tub ~

After weeks of a clogged bath tub ~

I decided to fill out a maintenance request form to fix the clog .... and maybe reglaze the tub.

And it was granted !!

I really wanted to be able to unclog the tub myself ... but I just couldn't do it.  So I filled out the forms ... I wasn't sure they would actually reglaze my tub ... but the apt managers came through.

Now I have this fan !!  My cubicle studio apartment is cooler than ever!!

Sofa King Hot

I'm sweating.

I'm sweating.

In serious need of another fan ... this fan I've had for years is about to retire or just die.

Hot. Hot. Hot.

I've been shampooing my hair in a daily basis because I've been sweating too much, I need to wash my hair.  It just took the 10 minutes I walked from my apartment to the bus stop to dry my hair ... and I have very long hair.

When will this heat end !!!
