Things to do on a Sunday in December

I decided to go to church early today.  I walked out of my apartment 15 minutes earlier than I usually do.  Relaxed that I didn't have to speed walk over and hope to find a seat.  When I finally got to the church, there were a lot of seats to choose from ... I also had time to read a couple of prayers from my prayer book before mass started.

And then ... I felt much better ... like my prayer was answered ... and that for this short time, I could feel that things will be OK.

Thank you God.

I didn't go to McDonalds today ... my usual Mocha Frappe was not to be today.  I just went straight home.

It took me five days ... but I finally finished the audio book !!

I listened to the last two discs today.  Now I'll probably get the "Book 2" of the series in the library.  I could do my squats / donkey kicks / lunges ... and get through several chapters.  I might actually use my iPhone while at the gym and listen to whatever book I download on Hoopla.

After finishing the audio book ... I was craving for some Starbucks .... so I went out to do a little grocery shopping ... and have a drink on my way back.  One of the baristas convinced me to get a Gingerbread Latte.  It was nice ... but not as great as the Caramel Brûlée.

When I got back home ... I remembered that I had a copy of Silver Linings Playbook.   I promised my co-worker that I'd get it back to him by Thursday, so I decided to watch it today.

It was really, really, really good.  The actors were fantastic.  And I loved the screenplay.

This was a good Sunday.

Same Old ... Same Old

I was at the library looking for a movie to watch and finally saw Safe Haven on the shelf ~ I looked at the cover and saw JH and JD and thought about how familiar this cover was.

This was a Nicholas Sparks Book.

I guess I should expect EVERY movie to have the EXACT pose.

But really ??  Why?

Cosmopolis

Sundays will officially be DVD day for me.

This Sunday, I decided to watch Cosmopolis

I'm really glad I didn't rent this, or watch it in the movies.  This was sooo AWFUL!
WORST movie I've seen in a long time.

2 Hours of my life that I could have been reading !!

Before Midnight ... finally

Jesse misses his plane.

I loved the ending of Before Sunset.  Celine dancing to Nina Simone, telling Jesse he was going to miss his plane.. The look in his eyes when he says "I know" ... I knew that they were going to end up together.  Now nine years later ... they are still together.

Spoilers Alert.

Part of me wishes that they didn't argue soo much.  Part of me wishes they didn't have to be discussing if someone did this or that with another person.  Part of me wishes there wasn't nudity involved.   Part of me wishes that Ethan Hawke had kept his shirt tucked out, rather than half in/half out.

They talk alot.  Argue alot.  They talk about Jesse's son Hank.  They talk about Jesse's Ex-Wife.  They talk about about their twins.  They talk about their careers.

The last scene is what got me.  I adore these characters.

sunrises & sunsets ... we are just passing through

Before Sunset

Jesse & Celine will probably be one of my favorite movie couples of all time.

Celine:  Baby, you are gonna miss that plane.
Jesse:    I know.

How much do I love this movie??  Very much !!

Paris ... what a wonderful location!  One of the reasons I wanted to visit Shakespeare And Company when I went to Paris was because of this movie.  Jesse talks about Sacre Coeur, the Eiffel Tower, and Notre Dame.  Every place that I visited during my vacation.

The "Before" movies just resonates with me.

Part Three ... Midnight ... tomorrow ...

Before Sunrise

I decided to watch Before Midnight tomorrow ... and tonight was going to be my Before Surise & Before Sunset DVD night.  It's been awhile since I've watched these two movies ... I basically just found out about Before Midnight a month ago.

Before Surise is still my SECOND favorite film of all time.

Tonight was the perfect night to watch this movie ... at the end ... when Celine and Jesse are saying goodbye to each other ... they promise to meet up 6 months from that night.

June 16th ... today's date ... I just had an OMG moment.

I will forever watch Before Sunrise every June 16th.

Before Midnight

How is it that I only just found out about this movie today ?!?!?!

I want to watch this movie ... but I just don't know if I'll like how the characters have evolved.

The Bourne Legacy

I finally got to watch The Bourne Legacy.  It was an OK movie ... I did wish it was another Matt Damon movie ... but Jeremy Renner was a good lead.

I thought that filming in the Philippines was interesting.

Now ... for the most important item in this movie ... and the only thing that I could think of at this moment is the HOUSE.

The Oliver Bronson House.

Those absolutely beautiful stairs !!! I had to keep pausing the DVD just to look at those stairs!!

If someone asked me if I watched The Bourne Legacy ... I would respond that I LOVE THE
HOUSE THEY BURNED DOWN!

I want to have this IN MY HOUSE !

I'll have to change design and layout of the dream house.

Farewell Europe!

The Big Adventure is officially over!

We left our Paris hotel at 7:45 am.

We flew out of CDG airport at 11:10 am

The plane that we rode had individual entertainment screens.  So the whole flight I was able to watch THREE MOVIES !!  I'm soo glad ARGO was one of the selections ... excellent movie !

Arrived in Philidelphia at 1:50 pm ~ because my mom had wheel chair assistance ~ we were able to go through customs and baggage claim quickly ~ this time we didn't go to a fancy Japanese restaurant ~ Instead ... I had a Philly Cheese Steak Sandwhich !!

We left PHL airpot at 4:00 pm ~ slept the whole way !!

Back in Los Angeles !!

Magic Mike

Today was another Sunday DAY OFF and I really needed to take my mind off all the sadness going on.

I wanted to STOP watching the news and maybe watch something fun.

I got the Magic Mike DVD as an automatic delivery from my DVD club ... didn't really want it .. but thought it might be something fun.

I DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO WATCH IT WHEN IT WAS OUT IN THE THEATRES.

I don't know if I'm the only girl that will admit this ... BUT I DID NOT LIKE THIS MOVIE!

THIS WAS BORING!!  THE PACE OF THE MOVIE WAS SLOW!!  AND THE ACTING!! OMG!

I had more excitement reading Fifty Shades Of Grey!!

I really wished I declined the shipment (forgot I guess).  I really wish I sent it back and just borrowed it from the library!!

Matthew McConaughey had only TWO really good scenes the beginning ... alright, alright, alright, and the ending ... when he does his stripping.

BUT THE MOVIE ITSELF ... OMG .. NOT INTERESTING AT ALL !!

The Words

It's been awhile since I've gone to the movies and I really wanted to see this.
Well written.  Great acting.

The Hunger Games

Had just finished the book yesterday and wanted to see the movie with everything fresh on my mind. I wanted to see what all the hype was about with the film, since I thought the book was good, but I didn't think it was fantastic.

Now my only question is ... Why was Senaca Crane such a big part of the movie, and not in the book?? I don't even think his NAME come up in the book (but I should look over it quickly).

I think I'll buy the books, but I don't think I'll buy the DVDS.

Larry Crowne

I wasn't on planning on borrowing this movie from the library, I actually only went to the library to return the CD's that were due ... but I might have made the trip worth it by borrowing something else ... and this movie seemed to be the only interesting one in the shelves.

I'M ACTUALY HAPPY I BORROWED IT! MIGHT ACTUALLY BUY A COPY FOR MY COLLECTION.

For some reason, most of my interest deals with the class that Julia Roberts character was teaching ... "The Art Of Informal Remarks", that's something I would actually want to teach.

I enjoyed the characters ... enjoyed the story ...

I don't understand why it didnt get such "good" reviews.

84th Academy Awards

Must see THE ARTIST!!
Must see IRIS !!

I got 6 out of 8 of my picks ~ missed Director and Actor ~ both going to THE ARTIST!

I loved the speech Octavia Spencer gave. Made me cry when she started crying.
Then smiles ....
"Please wrap up, I'm wrapping up, I'm sorry I'm freaking out. Thank you world"

Meryl Streep also gave a nice speech too ~
"I really want to thank all my colleagues, all my friends, I look out here and see my life before my eyes, my old friends, my new friends and really this is such a great honour but the thing that counts the most with me is the friendships and the love and the sheer joy we have shared making movies together"

Best Actor: George Clooney
Best Actress: Meryl Streep
Best Supporting Actor: Christopher Plummer
Best Supporting Actress: Octavia Spencer

Hugo

For my birthday yesterday, a friend of mine took me to the movies to see Hugo. We decided NOT to go to an AMC Theatre and go somewhere else instead.

One of my co-workers has been telling me how much she liked going to the new Laemmle Theater in North Hollywood ~ so that was the place to go.

The movie was wonderful ... and it was about watching (and creating movies) too.

It's been awhile since I've said I'll probably buy a movie when it goes out on DVD ... Now ... I'll definitely get this.

Rest In Peace Whitney Houston!!

I cannot believe the news!!

I don't think I'll be able to watch THE BODYGUARD anymore without mourning for Whitney Houston.

I was really rooting for her to get better...become a survival story like
Robert Downey Jr.

The radio is playing all of her songs.

I had a FANTASY WEDDING where Whitney Houston would sing a duet with Lebron James (DONT ASK I BEG OF YOU) and sing "Nobody Loves Me Like You Do" ~ that's never going to happen now (whatever crazy fantasy that was)!

Whitney ... Jesus Loves You ...!!

Going The Distance

I finally got the DVD in the library!!

Sadly ... after watching the movie ... I'm really bummed that I DID NOT LIKE IT AT ALL.

The writing was bad .... there was soo much F-bombs ... i wanted to try watching it again and mute the F-bomb moments ... but I don't think it would have matter .. I didn't like any of the characters.

I'm really glad I didn't pay to see this.

How Do You Know

I have no idea.

I have no idea?

Had to watch this movie TWICE. First time I fell asleep "close to" half way. The second time I couldnt believe I still decided to watch it.

I have no idea what this movie was about!! I still dont!! I don't even know how to describe what the story is about because I DONT KNOW WHAT THE STORY WAS ABOUT !!
