Back On

Something amazing had just happened.

I decided to walk to the post office today ... It was time to pay the fee for the next 6 months for my PO Box  .. I was feeling down because I wasn't sure why I still had it.  I only opened it because I wanted to tell the Universe I was going to get The House and it was going to be right by this post office.

Then the house went Off The Market .. for a couple of years now.

I felt like giving up ... It was a crazy thought .. some fantasy ... Maybe it was a good thing it wasn't for sale.

But today .. On my way to the post office feeling dread and that I'm wasting my time .. I stood in front of The House .. Coming Soon ... a realtor sign was up ... 

Back On The Market. 

I went in the post office feeing hopeful.  Paid the 6 months. Thanked the Universe.

Things to do on a Sunday in December

I decided to go to church early today.  I walked out of my apartment 15 minutes earlier than I usually do.  Relaxed that I didn't have to speed walk over and hope to find a seat.  When I finally got to the church, there were a lot of seats to choose from ... I also had time to read a couple of prayers from my prayer book before mass started.

And then ... I felt much better ... like my prayer was answered ... and that for this short time, I could feel that things will be OK.

Thank you God.

I didn't go to McDonalds today ... my usual Mocha Frappe was not to be today.  I just went straight home.

It took me five days ... but I finally finished the audio book !!

I listened to the last two discs today.  Now I'll probably get the "Book 2" of the series in the library.  I could do my squats / donkey kicks / lunges ... and get through several chapters.  I might actually use my iPhone while at the gym and listen to whatever book I download on Hoopla.

After finishing the audio book ... I was craving for some Starbucks .... so I went out to do a little grocery shopping ... and have a drink on my way back.  One of the baristas convinced me to get a Gingerbread Latte.  It was nice ... but not as great as the Caramel Brûlée.

When I got back home ... I remembered that I had a copy of Silver Linings Playbook.   I promised my co-worker that I'd get it back to him by Thursday, so I decided to watch it today.

It was really, really, really good.  The actors were fantastic.  And I loved the screenplay.

This was a good Sunday.

Work OR Listen to Audio Book for 8 hours?

Had to go back to work today since we didn't win the lottery.

But NO ONE won the jackpot ... so Tuesday will probably be $500 million dollars.

I figured in two months I'll be 39 ... it would be nice to be living in London by then and having no financial worries.

I listened to disc 5 & 6 of the audio book.  I feel like the next time I borrow an audio book, I could probably complete on in 8 hours.

Work ... blah
Audio Book ... yah !!

I had downloaded the Audible app from iTunes.  But was disappointed that I had to pay $14.95 monthly membership to download ONE complete book each month.  JUST ONE !!!!  There were some available titles with excerpts ... some at 30 min ... some at 45 min.  Big disappointment.

I decided to go to Starbucks during break and get my FREE Drink Reward .. which was a Venti Caramel Brûlée Frapp & had BOGO Chocolate Marble Loaf and Chocolate Croissant (which I gave to my co-worker).  On the walk over, I decided to listen to Bossypants ... read by Tina Fey.  It was really funny ... I had already READ the complete book ... it wad nice to be able to listen to some of it.

Must win lottery on Tuesday !!  Will have everyday of my life to listen to 8-9 hours daily and complete books!!

(I do intend to still READ a whole bunch too)

Friday The Thirteenth Millions

Tonight is Mega Millions night at $425 Million Dollars !!

7 of us have pitched in $1 each ... so we will each get $60,732,500

Then of course ... we pay taxes ... will most likely be HALF.

$30 million for my share at the end of the day ... and I plan to give half to family.

I think I'll be OK with $15 Million

I'll move to London and read books / write books / sell books.

Tonight ... I shall listen to TWO more discs of the audio book.

Not a bad day for Friday the 13th.

Multi Tasking

I finished disc two of the audio book today.

At the same time, I was able to do 100 squats & 90 donkey kicks.

I'm still stuck on Level 202 in Candy Crush .. and I'm still trying to figure out what this Dreamworld is all about ?!?!

BUT NOW ... i can still try to pass levels AND be able to have progress in book!!

Why did I wait this long to borrow audio books from the library!!

First Audio Book

I did something I said I would never do.

I got an audio book.

I was browsing the New Books section in the library, but didn't find anything I wanted.  The next shelf over was the audio books.

I always wanted to read books by Debbie Macomber, and one of the "books" on the shelf was The Inn at Rose Harbor.

So .... just to try out how much I could go through an audio book VS a "regular" book ... I borrowed it.

Now ... after finishing one disc ... I'm actually surprised that I like it.

Lorelei King is the person reading the book, I don't know who she is ... and I'm still getting used to her voicing multiple characters.

I'm glad I decided to do this.

Same Old ... Same Old

I was at the library looking for a movie to watch and finally saw Safe Haven on the shelf ~ I looked at the cover and saw JH and JD and thought about how familiar this cover was.

This was a Nicholas Sparks Book.

I guess I should expect EVERY movie to have the EXACT pose.

But really ??  Why?

It's been awhile since I've stocked up on Vitamin Water.  I remembered when I wanted to write COPY for the bottles.

Observe the Sabbath ....

Today in church, I said a prayer that I really ... really wanted something ... so hopefully tomorrow this something might actually happen.

I gathered up all the paperworks I needed for tomorrows appointment ... but then realized that maybe ... just maybe ... I'm asking for something that I can't possibly have ... I need it ... but not as bad as other people might need it.

While I'm enjoying having Sundays off ... I might need to make several changes ... and the possibility of working on Sundays might be in my future.

How To Get Out Of A Rut?

I was clearing some of the clutter on my desk and found a folder full of paperworks for my apartment.  I found a "Increase In Rent" letter ... from May 2009 ... which is my current rent.  I should be happy that my rent hasn't increased in the last four years ... and in March (if I still live here) it will be 10 years in this apartment !!

Sounds impressive ... but also sad ... A LOT OF SADNESS !!

I'd love to move ... I know there are other places that probably cost less ... but I'm just too settled here ... and I'm MAD at myself for being too comfortable.

Squat Challenge

Starting today ... I will do this "30 Day Squat Challenge" ... 

50 squats done ... and I feel my legs aching :-(

Ha - Low - een

Some people at work dressed up for Halloween.

I didn't.

I remember in past years ... I actually enjoyed dressing up ... but now ... I don't even want to put the effort ... for work even ... HA !!

Anyways ... after work ... I was walking home from the bus stop ... and there were actually a nice turn out of families ... and adults ... going trick or treating in my neighborhood.

One house that I pass daily went all out with a smoke machine and horror "noises" ~ it makes me happy to know there are homeowners that actually enjoy doing this ... they go all out and decorate their homes ... they probably also give out the "good" candies.

If I dressed up for work ... I might have kept whatever costume on ... and gone to this house ... and other houses.

I'm really glad I didn't rent this, or watch it in the movies.  This was sooo AWFUL! 

WORST movie I've seen in a long time.

The 14th Year

Today is the 14th anniversary of my dads death.

I keep thinking he died young.  He was just 60 years old.  Just 17 days shy of his 61st birthday.

I had just read an article about how the age of 65 was too early to retire.  I kinda wish my dad retired at age 60.  Maybe he and my mom would have been able to go on a vacation to Europe.

Maybe if Oct. 19th, 1999 would still have been the day he would die ... he would have still had a year (almost) to be a retired man.

I think about how he would have had time to travel the world.  I could picture my mom and him riding the gondola in Venice, the two of them eating crepes in Paris, the two of them marveling the Sistine Chapel in Rome, and pretending to hold up the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

Some days at work ... I think ... what would my dad do?  I think he worked to hard.  He liked his Jack Daniels and his Benson & Hedges.  I wonder how much longer he would have worked.  Would he have retired at 65??  If he was doing something else ... would he have been less stressed and healthier?

Today marks 10 years and 7 months of me working at JOB ... not at a CAREER.  Everyday I wake up and think ... IS THIS ALL THERE IS??  I feel like if my dad had been alive these past 14 years, he and my mom would have had these fabulous adventures.  He would tell me to QUIT YOUR JOB AND TRAVEL THE WORLD.

Not really sure though.

I think about all these crazy things happening in the world today ... these things might actually have stressed him out & anger him.

Dad ... if you can ... somehow ... during the Super Lotto draw ... find a way for me to win ... and of course several others ... and then I could take that trip around the world ... the trip I wish that you an mom could have had.
