Grammy Night

Grammy Trophy

It's Grammy Night!

When I was younger I wanted to win this
award ... however ... I CANT SING!!

I wanted to do a Best New Artist acceptance
speech.

I thought there would never be a chance
that I could ever get one, but now I know
its possible for me in these categories
that has nothing to do with me singing :

1. Song Of The Year (song writing)
2. Best Compilation Soundtrack Album (producer)
3. Best Musical Show Album (lyricist)
4. Best Song Written For Motion Picture, Television

SUPER LOTTO DREAMING

Dear Universe ~

Please consider my quick picks and "personal" picks
for the Super Lotto tonight.

I understand that $76 million can be divided by ALOT
of people ... i just want probably $5 million of that
and you can choose whoever for the rest.

I need to buy THE HOUSE and THE BEETLE ~
AND DONATE TO SEVERAL CHARITIES.

PLEASE.

THANK YOU.

CURRENT EVENTS & FAMOUS PEOPLE

I told myself that I wouldn't read anything
"celebrity drama" related. But this past
week, I couldn't escape it.

I don't know which one would be my "favorite" ~
1. Jessica Simpson's Weight
2. Christian Bale's Outburst
3. Michael Phelps Drug Scandal

I seriously dont think there is anything wrong
with Jessica Simpson and her weight gain. She
is still pretty and can sing. That's more
important, right?!?

The outfit ... if she was still "skinny" ...
might still have gotten her in the news.

As for Christian Bale ... I never thought he
could be a "moody" person. But I soo enjoyed
James Liptons "re-enactment" on the Conan O'brien
show!!

And now ... Phelps & Pot ... i wasn't really
a FAN of him ~ and his 8 Gold Olympic Medals.
YEAH...Its amazing...but someting about him
just "ticked" me off!!

So this whole ordeal, kinda made me "happy" ~
And I'm glad Kellogg will not renew their
contract with him.

Yeah he says he is sorry (sorry that he got caught).
What else is he suppose to say. I mean, he was
already arrested in the past for drunk driving.
He is no "greatest athlete" in my book.

I HAVE THE BRAVO CHANNEL!!

I don't know how long I've had the channel,
but the other night, instead of using the
channel up and channel down button, I decided
to individually enter the channel number instead.

Most of them were the Spanish channels that I
didnt put on memory, otherS were static ... then
... channel 43 ... i found the BRAVO CHANNEL!!

ADD TO MEMORY PLEASE!

I think THE UNIVERSE heard me ask for this
channel!! NOW Please, Time Warner Cable,
can you now give me OXYGEN?!?!?

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: New In Town

New In Town

I should have waited for this to come out
in DVD!! I passed watching Benjamin Button
because I thought we would have missed the
first couple of minutes.

Anyways ... thank goodness Harry Connick Jr.
was there ~ i would have not had a reason to
watch this.

The movie wasn't bad ... but I thought that
the script could have been better. I already
knew halfway how "the company will be saved" ~

Now we need to find another day to watch
Benjamin Button!!

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: Ink Heart

Ink Heart

This was a last minute decision to watch
this movie.

I wanted something "fun" and lighthearted.
Other peeps wanted to do the "Oscar Movie"
round. Everything else was later in the
day. So Ink Heart was the "winning" choice.

Maybe we should have seen MILK or FROST/NIXON.

The visuals were wonderful.
We love Brendan Fraser & Paul Bettany.
But the storyline was "semi-boring" ~

This could have been a TV Movie.
Wait for it on DVD.

The only "interesting" thing for us was
that we tried the FUZE drink for $1 for
Movie Watchers discount ... and enjoyed it.
Hopefully AMC has the promotion longer than
the VITAMIN WATER.

Slumdog Wins SAG Awards!

I was hoping and praying that the SAG would
honor the actors of Slumdog Millioniare, I
thought that maybe the guild would have wanted
the cast of Milk or Doubt since Meryl & Sean
won ... but when Slumdog was announced ...
I WAS SOO HAPPY!!

THANK YOU SAG!! THANK YOU FOR ALL WHO VOTED
FOR SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE ~

I wish that the kids were there to accept the
award, but Im glad Freida Pinto gave out their
names ... she gets BEST DRESSED in my opinion.

Slumdog SAG Awards

PS.
Congrats to Heath Ledger
Congrats to Tina Fey who had the funniest
speech ... regarding her daughter & residuals.

SKITTLES: REFLECT THE RAINBOW

When I first saw this commercial, I was thinking
to myself ... they are talking in TAGALOG!!

But I couldn't understand "most" of what they
were saying. I didnt know another language
had "gutom" as also hungry ... but everyone
I know said that it was infact in Tagalog, but
the actors were all talking fast.

THANK YOU TO THE AD COMPANY / COPY WRITER WHO
THOUGHT OF THIS!!

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: Bride Wars

I wanted to watch something "fun" today
and was debating whether or not to watch
this movie ... it didnt have the "best"
reviews, but I decided to see it anyways.

I actually enjoyed it. BUT the script
could have been better. I thought that
some of the scenes could have been deleted
(the ones of their friends talking to each
other over the phones).

Overall, it was a "fun" movie. But I agree
with the critics that say "there are better
wedding movies."

LATE NIGHT NOISE

Dear Neighbor at Apt# 1 ~

These last couple of nights, I've found myself
waking up to noises coming from your apartment.
I wouldn't say it was loud voices coming from
the walls, more like muffled "grunts" ~

They aren't exactly noise, and you know what
I mean. I'm glad its not the yelling kind too.
Maybe it is yelling, inside YOUR aparment. It's
just that the "grunting" is kinda annoying!!

I don't know how Apt#9 deals with noises coming
up their floor. You're not as bad as Apt#8 which
is right above mine ... the roof shaking ... not
really a good nights sleep.

If you have to HAVE IT, fine ... but really ... in
my opinion ... she is faking it ~

Two and Six

In two months ... it'll be SIX years that I've
been employed here in this city.

I can't believe how much time passes.

How I really wish I had atleast a novel
already published. If Stephenie Meyer
can dream, write, & get accepted for
publication in SIX months, I should have something too!

But these two months will be my time of thinking.

I've made up my mind that things need to change.
I need more. I want to be doing something that
really "matters" ~

Lakeview Terrace

A friend of mine let me borrow his Lakeview Terrace
DVD. I never wanted to watch it when it was in theatres,
so watching it for free was nice.

It was a really interesting story.

Samuel Jackson was just plain EVIL. I'm
glad he got what he got at the end of the
movie.

I had a feeling with "fat guy" first shows
up on screen, that ABEL and him were going
to work together. Poor guy ... got what was
coming to him.

******************************************

Made me really want "The House" ~ considering
the couple were really excited about being
homeoweners. I WANT TO BE A HOMEOWNER TOO!!!

I've walked around the neighborhood, and don't
think there are any ABELS ~

So Please Universe. Please. Tonight Maybe.

I'm done trying to change the template!!

* I've FINALLY separted the TITLE & DATE
* I've FINALLY got the "comment" line
* I've FINALLY found colors that I'm happy with

Thursday, January 15, 2009

Hi Universe! Can I Ask You Something?

It's one more month till my birthday, and since
you never give me WORLD PEACE, I decided on
something else that might be "easier" for you.

Yes. I'm asking you for the beloved "house" ~

Please Universe!! May I please have the house?
I'm not asking much. Just a lottery payout.
Or maybe a publishing house making a very generous
offer on the manuscript.

Please Universe!! No one gets hurt. And maybe,
just maybe, a little bit closer to World Peace.

Thank you.

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: The Reader

Kate Winslet deserved the Golden Globe
for Best Supporting Actress ~

I didnt plan on watching this movie until
she won two categories. I went into this
movie not really knowing what it was about,
and had no idea what significance the title
had.

The first half hour consisted of alot of
nudity and sex ~ after that passed, it was
nice to watch MICHEAL read to HANNA, and
the scene where Kate Winselt is crying
when he was reading the end of a book ALMOST
made me cry too.

**** SPOILER ALERT *****
I was disappointed when Michael didnt say
anything about Hanna during the trial for
the Nazi war crimes. I wanted him to yell
"she didnt do it!! She can't read or write!!"
Overall ~ i'm really glad i went to this
movie. I actually preferred it to RR.

And I cried ... during the end ... when
Michael started to send the tapes of him
reading the books ... the look on Hanna's
face ... SHE DESERVED THE GLOBES!

A Week Already ~

It's the first week of the year and I've
broken some of my resolutions.

1. I didn't go to Mass on First Friday,
First Saturday ... and SUNDAY .. bad me!

2. I stopped working out on Sunday ~

3. I've been having about 6 hours of sleep.

The first week of television viewing has also
given me hope that there are good shows to come.
Sundays Desparate Housewives was alright for me.
I had to pass on Brothers & Sisters because I
needed to sleep. I found myself watching True
Beauty ... still will not bring myself to watch
Mammas Boys ... and "TB" actually has a good
elimination system ... the "mean" person leaves.
I'm glad Ugly Betty is back ... I'm not too sure
how I feel about Greys Anatomy ... the writing seems
to be quite off (more sex, no story).

Can't wait for LOST!!! Two More Weeks!!

Slumdog Millionaire

I've been waiting for a long time for this movie
to finally show in the theatre that I go to. It
finally started playing two weeks ago and I finally
had time to see it.

It was Wonderful...Oscar Worthy...Fantastic Story.

I recommend EVERYONE to see it.

I predict it winning MANY awards:
1. Picture
2. Script
3. Directing
4. Music
5. Acting
6. Editing

Think Green

About a week ago I found one of those "green" bags
hanging on my door. The apartment managers had
given all of the tenants a recycling bag. I wasn't
sure if I was ever going to use it. But it actually
helps.

Bag Logorecycling bag

stuffed bag

I was able to fit a box of cereal, 1 Liter "Smartwater",
1 bottle "Vitamin Water", mini bag of rice, 100 Calorie
Snack, Yakult, 2 boxes of tea. And there was room
to spare. The bag felt nice. I dont have to ask for
"paper & plastic" anymore ~

The Secret Life Of The American Teenager

This show is my new guilty pleasure.

Sure, the premise is about the life of teenagers,
and teen pregnancy, etc. There may be some
"cheesy" dialogue and sceneros ~ but it is
actually a good show.

The second season premiere with the wedding
between Ben & Amy was enjoyable to watch
especially because of the premise of everyone
getting a fake ID.

Kudos to the writer for an interesting script.

Revolutionary Road

A friend of mine had a copy of a screener for
"Revolutionary Road" ~ of all of the films out,
that was the one movie that I didnt plan on
watching. The trailers seemed really "intense"
and I wasn't interested in the subject at all.

Since I had nothing to do on Saturday, I decided to
watch it. I thought that I might not be able to
finish the whole movie.

I WAS SOOO WRONG!

I actually liked it!! Superb acting by Leo & Kate.
If you've seen the trailers, you know that this
contains DRAMA ... the end of the movie breaks my
heart.

I hope both ~ or atleast one of them ~ wins an award.

New Look

It's a new year ... and i decided I wanted a new look
for my blog.

I didnt want the templates available in blogger.com
so i started searching sites ... and saw this design.

I think it was the paperclip and pushpin that caught
my attention.

I'm still trying to find pictures of "oldschool"
typewriters to replace the current drawings in the layout.

For some reason ... there is also no comment section.

A Big THANK YOU to Pauline for creating this "blog skin"

First Friday

Well, its the first Friday of the year which means
1. First Friday Mass
2. DVD Night
3. 4-Hour writing
4. Lottery Night

Whatever you didn't get done yesterday, dear Aquarius, you certainly need to finish up today. Discipline and attention to the sand slipping through the hourglass are themes of the journey. You will find that the more you are able to accomplish, the better you will feel about yourself when the sun goes down. If there is stagnant energy in your life, this is a sign that it is time to get things moving. Don't waste another moment sitting around and waiting for someone else to facilitate the solution for you. It's all about taking the initiative yourself.

New Years Resolutions

Happy New Year!!

It's 2009 ~ a new year ~ new beginnings ~ new possibilities ~

The Resolutions Are:
1. Eat Healthy
2. Exercise Daily
3. Write Daily
4. Read Daily
5. Sleep 8 Hours Each Night
6. Go To Mass Every Sunday
7. Be a NICE person to EVERYONE

I decided to read my daily horoscope, just for fun.

Happy 2009! You're a futuristic Aquarius and you love making plans for tomorrow. That's why your favorite books and movies are science fiction, and you're first in line to view 'tomorrowland' exhibits. On Thursday, New Year's Day, you'll buzz with the dreams and goals you have for your life. Allow for a few twists and turns to come your way, since the Universe is going to throw a lot of energy shifts toward you. On Saturday you reflect on what you really want out of life as Venus enters Pisces and your sector of values.

MOVIE TUESDAY: Seven Pounds

Since tomorrow is New Years Eve, have plans, so I
won't be able to do a movie night on Wednesday.

So it had to be a Tuesday movie night instead. But
ofcourse ... this was another treat from "A" ... and
I got to see "Seven Pounds" ~

I kinda feel mixed about this. Will Smith's acting was
great ... but the story ... well ... I thought it was
"alright" ~ from watching the trailers, i knew it was
about Will Smith and 7 strangers. But what was it
SEVEN POUNDS of what!?!?

** SPOILER ALERT **
in the beginning of the movie Will Smill calls 911
to report his suicide. then it goes on a flashback
within a flashback. He's a rich guy, an accident
happens, he pretends to be an IRS, he meets people,
he donates his organs, he commits suicide, and his
heart goes to Rosario Dawson.

MOVIE SATURDAY: Gran Torino

Since Wednesday was Christmas Eve, I didn't get to
go to the movies. And I've been feeling crappy
with this awful cold that I didn't really feel
like going out at all these last few days.

However, my friend "A" decided to give me a treat
of a free movie ... GRAND TORINO ... how could I
say NO ~

I must say .. this is an excellent, excellent movie!
When you see the "vintage clint eastwood" trailers, ads,
it is all true. You will not be disappointed. I might
actually buy the DVD.

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: Nothing Like The Holidays

I was really hoping to see "Australia" today, but it
started somewhat early in the afternoon, and the later
show was too late. Really wanted to see the matinee
but couldnt get out of work early.

The only movie left was "Nothing Like The Holidays".

I thought that this was a sweet movie. But I don't
think I'll be adding it to my DVD collection.

2009 Golden Globes Nominations

My Thoughts On The Golden Globes Nominations:

Its another year of awards ... i try to watch
everything nominated, but i just dont' have that
much time on my hands ~

I have yet to see any of the "Best Picture" nominees,
so I can't say who i think should win ~

I really think MAMMA MIA will win for "Best Musical" ~

I think I'll see what movie wins in the "Best Foreign Film"
then I'll watch it to see if it wins the Oscar.

Heath Ledger SHOULD win for "Best Supporting Actor" ~

BOLT should win for "Best Animated Film"

I have not watched any films in the "Best Screenplay"
category ... which is just SAD, SAD, SAD!

The TELEVISION category:
All I can say is the America Ferrera & Neil Patrick Harris
should win ~

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: Four Christmases

The only reason I wanted to watch this movie was
because Reese Witherspoon was in the movie. I'm
not big on Vince Vaughn.

Anyways, the movie had its funny scenes, however
I could have waited until it got on DVD to rent,
not to keep.

The Tales Of Beedle The Bard

I just got an early Christmas Gift from one of my friends
at work. During one Christmas, he got me the Harry Potter books
when he was my Secret Santa. Today ... he got me JK Rowlings
new book "The Tales Of Beedle The Bard" ~ which just
came out yesterday ~ What a great friend!

Cant wait for The Deathly Hallows to come out in paperback
to complete my collection!!

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: Twilight

I finally finished the book yesterday, so I wanted to
watch the movie while everything was still fresh in
my mind.

I really enjoyed the movie, but I still like the
Harry Potter series much better.

There are things that I wish they included or didnt
change from what is in the book ~ but I guess everything
worked out fine.

It's December!

This year I plan on sending out REAL Christmas cards ~
and not do any of the e-card giving. I actually LOVE
opening my mail box and finding cards in them.

I think the only "problem" cards I'm going to have
is for my brothers. How many cards to they make of
"To My Brother & His Family" ???

Since I have 5 ~ i hope i don't have to send the same
one. And i don't want to send out the generic assorted
cards to them.

There will probably be a bunch of people that I have
to buy the assorted box cards for ~ i know its easier
for e-cards ~ but i want the "real thing" ~

November Stuff

Tomorrow is December.

I can't believe that it's almost the end of 2008.
This year went by soo fast. I just feel that I
haven't done all the things I wanted to do this year.

No more monthly resolutions for me.

This past week was somewhat in the HIGHS and LOWS.

I missed Thanksgiving dinner with family because of
work. But had Thanksgiving dinner with friends at
work instead. So it was nice...Turkey & mash potato
VS Baked Chicken, Ham, Pot Roast and steamed rice.
No complaints about that ~ But still ...

A friend of mine at work found out that his sister had
died from a car accident (the day before Thanksgiving).
and now her 3 kids are without a mom. My heart goes out
to him and his family.

The day after Thanksgiving, was Black Friday. I passed on
Christmas Shopping this year. But was happy to get the day
off to go to the wedding of one of my former roomates from
Boston. I missed her FIRST wedding in Tennessee. So I'm
glad that she decided to have her SECOND wedding in Los Angeles.
It was nice to see her since I haven't really spent time with
her the past couple of years. She looke extremely beautiful and
happy.

Hopefully December brings more happier stuff ~

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving

I'm thankful for my family & friends.
I'm thankful for my health.
I'm thankful for a place to call "home".
I'm thankful for having a job.

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: Bolt

Bolt

I can't believe I waited soo long to watch this
movie!!

It was the funniest animated movie I've seen in
a long time ~ the HAMSTER deserves some kind of
"best comedic performance" nomination!!! :-)

Will definitely buy this for my collection.

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: Eagle Eye

I kept pushing back watching this movie, since
I wasn't really interested in the storyline.

But I actually enjoyed it. This might actually
be part of my DVD collection.

The one thing that I didnt like ... thank god it
happened in the end, but I wish it didnt happened
at all ~ was the kiss between the two characters.
BLAH! Where did that come from ~

watch.

Window Waterfall

This morning I woke up and noticed that water was
dripping from my bathroom window. I became paranoid
because I noticed the water LAST NIGHT before I went
to bed.

I remember this happening before when my upstairs
neighbor would take a shower. But I think this was
dripping overnight.

I knew I should have written a maintenace request
a long time ago. It probably got worse. Anyways,
I called the apartment manager about the problem,
and she mentioned it might be because the "solar
panels" ~

When I got home, no more dripping.

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: Nick and Norah

While I enjoyed watching this movie, I probably should
have waited until it went out on DVD to rent.

There was some funny moments, interesting characters,
and some good music too. The whole "gum" scenero,
EWW ~

I was kinda hoping Nick and Norah would have waited
much longer before they ... I mean, he was still
obsessing about his ex just a couple of hours ago.

If they just had that passionate "New York Kiss",
I would have like that much better.

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: Beverly Hills Chihuahua

I wasn't planning on watching this movie, but all the
"good" ones were playing at a later time, so this was
the only choice.

BUT I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS MOVIE.

The dogs were sooooo cute!!!

Loved the story ~ Loved the "supporting" humans ~ and
Loved the rat and iguana (you have to had watched it)!

This makes me want to get a puppy!!

Shows In Trouble

Yahoo TV posted 5 shows in trouble and
one of them was no suprise to me, but
the others, I am hoping will not have a
problem.

1. Do Not Disturb
* This was not a suprise!! The pilot episode
was awful. I didnt even bother watching the
rest of the shows that aired

2. Opportunity Knocks
* I didnt even bother watching this show

3. Pushing Daisies
* WHAT?!?! Not possible ... this is an
AMAZING show ~

4. Valentine
* OK ... now this is one of my favorite
shows ... CW better not yank it off the air.

5. Easy Money
* Another show that I have no idea what it
is about ...

The Ex List: surfer boy

I think I like this "Ex" ~ and Bella
puts a question mark too ...

One "little" suggestion I want to make
is to put some "equal" time for the
rest of the cast. I haven't seen anything
really interesting with Daphne.

Love that kiddie pool ~

Apartment Repairs

Thank goodness for the maintenance guys that did

Notice To Enter Dwelling: Part 2

Today there was a "notice to enter dwelling" posted
on my door. The reason was "to make necessary or
agreed repairs, decorations, alterations, or
imporvements."

I'm just hoping the minor drip in my kitchen faucet
is what they are going to fix.

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: The Duchess

This was the only movie that seemed interesting
to watch this week.

It was alright ...

The cinematography and costumes were the only
things that I "enjoyed" .... other than seeing
the Dutchess hair catch on fire!

Nine

On Oct. 19, 1999 my father died.

It's been 9 years and I still remember details
from that day as if it just happened.

I was sleeping in, I usually get up around NOON
to go to work. Back then, I was working at a
theatre as an assistant manager, and work usually
started at 3pm. I had to wait for my niece to
get out of classes and take me to work.

The phone was constantly ringing, and when the
answering machine went on ... no one left a msg.

I finally got up to take a shower, I knew my
niece would be home (we were both renting rooms
from a family) soon. When I was done, and
stepped out of the bathroom, she was home, on
the phone...CRYING.

My sister in law and called ... and gave us the
bad news that my dad had a heart attack. He was
in the hospital in the ICU. They were waiting
for some kind of change in him.

I felt numb ... couldn't stay home ... had to
go to work. So I told my niece to call me or
come to work with any new news.

The whole entire night, I couldn't concentrate
on anything. Finally when it was almost time
to get out of work, my niece came to the theatre
and told me the news.

He died.

My younger sister in Guam called also. She said
"he's not here anymore" ... all I could do was cry.
My co-worker Sarah was trying to console me. Some of
the guys were quiet. Not knowing what to do.

I went home and heard several msgs left on the machine.
Relatives had found out about my dad and gave their
condolences. The mother and daugher we were renting
our rooms from tried to talk to us about them also
losing their husband~father.

Some many things have happened in the last 9 years
that I wish my dad was a part of. My graduation
from Grad School, my mom's 75th birthday, the birth
of his first GREAT-GRANDCHILD, the birth of his other
GRANDCHILDREN ... and more ...

I miss him ... but I know he is watching over my family.

MOVIE WEDENSDAY: Ghost Town

Ghost Town

Last week I was sick and could'nt watch a movie.
I was planning on using the free ticket I earned
from the AMC Movie Watcher Club.

Today I decided to watch Ghost Town. I love
fantasy movies ... and I somewhat knew that
it was basically that this guy needed to help
the ghosts in order for them to move on.

** SPOILER ALERT ***

When Ricky Gervais gets hit by the bus. I screamed!
Did not see that coming at all!! But was glad that
it did move the story forward.

I don't think I'd buy the DVD, If I get a free offer
with Columbia House, mabye I'd pick this as a selection.
Or ... once again ... getting this as a gift would be nice.

The Ex List: the outdoor guy

Second episode and I'm enjoying every bit.

One small bit that I love about the character
is that she's 33 too!! But I was thinking,
if she is suppose to find "the one" in a year,
does that mean that the show is done in a season!?!

I love the whole "drinking" game that
the supporting cast had with each other.

Very funny script.

The Ex List

The Ex List

This is an absolutely ADORABLE show!!

I wasn't sure if I wanted to watch, but kinda
curious about the premise. Now I think its going
to be a favorite of mine.

I'm not sure if it was because of the "bitch"
song ... or the quirkyness of the Psychic ...
or the friendship (i sorta thought the whole
openess of one character flashing her brazillian
was stange) ... but this is a cute show.

I'm going to love Friday TV night!

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: Nights In Rodanthe

I love Nicholas Sparks books ~

I'm always hesitant when movies comes out based on
his books.

I was not disappointed in this movie. Sure, there
could have been more ... but was not disappointed.

I already knew what was going to happen in the end,
but I still cried. Maybe it was James Franco
crying ... but I cried ... and that means that this
movie was good.

nights in rodanthe

I can't wait to get the new Nicholas Sparks book:
The Lucky One. I've already got an email saying
that it was shipped. So can't wait ... should be
here by Saturday!

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: The Women

I was really looking forward to this movie because
it was starring Meg Ryan. I decided not to read
any of the reviews and the only thing I new about
this was it was based on an original and also no
men appear in the movie. Any other info I knew was
based on what was shown on the previews.

I thought it was O.K. ~ I just wished that Debra
Messing and Jada Pickett Smith had more to do ~
what a waste of their talent.

Meg Ryan ... as always ... adorable.

9 to 5: The Musical

Wednesday is usally movie night, but I got free
tickets to 9 to 5: The Musical and was happy to
have theatre night instead.

It was amazing!!

Megan Hilty (from Wicked) was FANTASTIC as Doralee,
Im sure she made Dolly Parton proud.

9 TO 5 : THE MUSICAL

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: Hamlet 2

This movie had some really funny moments, and there
were the really corny moments. But I'm glad that I
actually watched it.

The only thing that annoyed me was that David Arquette
could have more dialog and why did he had to be the guy
that left with the wife. Elizabeth Shue was funny as
herself as well.

It was slow paced as times ... and I wished they
actually showed more of the musical scenes. I don't
know if I'll buy this for my collection, but I would
not mind if I got it as a GIFT.

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: Vicky.Cristina.Barcelona

Vicky.Cristina.Barcelona

I was planning on watching HAMLET 2 today, but because
I had plans later on, had to catch a earlier movie. The
only one available at 4:00pm was VICKY, CRISTINA, BARCELONA.

I love Woody Allen films, so I didn't mind going to
see this movie, and HAMLET 2 next week.

I thought this movie was alright. I liked MATCH POINT much
better. Woody Allen must really like Scarlett Johansson to
put her in this movie too.

I thought that it's kinda strange that Rebecca Hall (Vicky)
isn't even in the movie poster ... but Penelope Cruz is.
Maybe its because she wasn't par of the "threesome" ~

Overall, if you're a Woody Allen fan, go out and see
this movie. If not, it is still worth a DVD rental.

90210

90210

I was a fan of the original series ... was looking forward to see
how this new version will be like ... and ... from the words of
someone's post:

It was "CRAPTASTIC"

It wasn't great ... BUT it wasn't bad either.

Things That I Enjoyed Watching:
1. Brenda & Kelly Reunion
2. Nat still in the Peach Pit
3. The Hannah Zuckerman-Vazquez "moment"

Things That Annoyed Me:
1. The NEW Peach Pit
2. The Acting
3. Some characters (Naomi & Adrianna)

I could go on ... but what for!! I'm probably going to
watch next week ... just to see Kelly's mom ... and
maybe get some more "history" of the characters.

Unless the writers create something "magical" like
Brenda-Dylan in these characters and storylines,
I won't be watching.

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: The House Bunny

The House Bunny

Okaaay ... so I really don't know why I went to see this
movie. Just that I "needed" to see a movie today, and
since it was a comedy ... "why not"

There was "some" funny scenes ... but the writing
and acting annoyed me. EXAMPLE: Katherine McPhee
DID NOT HAVE TO BE IN THIS MOVIE (AND HER CHARACTER)

So this kinda "stupid-funny" movie is something
you should wait until the DVD to comes out ~

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: Brideshead Revisited

Brideshead Revisited

I've never read the book.
I've never heard of some of the actors.
I had no idea what the subject-storyline was about.

I just wanted to watch a movie today (my wednesday ritual),
and this was the only thing that seemed "interesting".

When I gave my AMC MOVIE WATCHERS card, I was happy
that on top of my free WEDNESDAY POPCORN, I was also
entitled to a free drink. Lucky me!!

Now about the movie ~ hmmm ~ I really dont know how
I can comment about this ... I didnt think it was
AWFUL ... maybe it ran long ... somewhat bored at
times. But I guess it was a "good" movie .. sort of ~

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: Swing Vote

Swing Vote

I wasn't sure I would like this movie, after watching MUMMY RETURNS
last week, without reading reviews ... etc ... I didn't want to feel
like I've wasted my Wednesday ~

BUT I REALLY ENJOYED THIS MOVIE!!

The script was well written!! Loved the Acting!!

I had a feeling that the movie was going to end in a
particular way .. and it did ... and Im glad it was
what i thought.

This might possibly be part of my DVD collection!

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: The Mummy Returns

Mummy Returns

I think I should have read reviews of this movie
before I watched it (or would not have watched it),
but I was GRAVELY disappointed!!

There are several things that I wish was changed:
1. WHY CHANGE EVIE (to MARIA BELLO)
2. THEY HAVE A 20-SOMETHING SON (which make they how old?)
3. THOSE MOUNTAIN "MONSTERS" (i forget what they are called)

The storyline was "blah" ~ the action was "OK" ~ the only
thing that I enjoyed was seeing MICHELLE YEOH AND RUSSELL WONG!!

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: Get Smart

Get Smart

I wasn't sure if I really wanted to pay $9.50 for
this movie ... but we watched everything else that
was out ... and I really wanted to see a movie today,
so ... GET SMART ... was the only "interesting" choice.

I actually enjoyed the movie ... only 3 of us in
the theatre ... ofcourse ... this movie was out
for awhile!!

Wednesday, July 23, 2008

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: The Dark Knight

Dark Knight

This was a FANTASTIC MOVIE!!

I could go on and on but you just HAVE to see
it to enjoy yourself!

I loved to hate the joker!! Heath Ledger was
fantastic!

I needed to use the restroom about 30 more minutes
until the movie was over ... but I just HELD "it"!!
I found out that the theatre sold VITAMIN WATER for
$1.00 for "AMC Movie Watcher" members, I just drank
too much with my popcorn and Bunch Crunch ... had to
have my usual movie snacks!!

Anyways...GO OUT AND SEE THIS MOVIE!! Don't even
think about going on a restroom break...you'll miss
alot...every minute was worth it!

Mamma Mia!

Mamma Mia

I absolutely loved this musical!! Will most definitely buy
this for my collection.

Thanks to PONDS for the free "Movie Money" tickets!! We had
to go to the ArcLight Cinemas to use the tickets ~ really nice
theatre ... never been there before ... and the popcorn was
worth the price (usually get it free at AMC) ~

Go out and see this ... you'll have a great time!

Movie Wednesday: Hancock

hancock

When I saw the previews of this movie, I thought it
seemed too "over the top" ... but then some of my
friends told me that they actually enjoyed the movie.

I had free movie passes so I didn't mind watching
this without spending anything.

I did infact enjoy this movie!!!

A friend of my told me about the "twist" regarding
Charlize Theron, so I was waiting for the moment
they revealed her super powers.

Anyways ... there are things that I wish were explained,
but I guess the movie was "fine" the way it is.

Movie Wednesday: Wall-E

A friend of mine had told me that he saw
this movie on opening day ... majority of
kids ... and he said they didn't seem too
enthusiastic about the movie.

I decided to watch it today ~ didn't think
it was bad ~ but I wasn't too impressed by
it.

Wall-E (cant make that dot) was cute, and
so was the other robots. There was just
something about the storyline that i felt
lacking.

I'd still buy the DVD ~ just to get the whole
PIXAR collection.

Movie Wednesday: Kung Fu Panda

Photobucket

I decided to sign up for the AMC Movie Watchers
program!!

I finally got the card and the member benefits
information ... Wednesday is "free popcorn" day,
so instead of Movie Mondays ~ I'm going to have
Movie Wednesdays instead. IM SAVING MONEY
NOT PAYING FOR POPCORN. All I need to spend now is
$3.00 for Buncha Crunch. And I have 5 free tickets
so I guess I won't have to worry for a month.

Anyways, I watched Kung Fu Panda and enjoyed it. I really
liked the scene when Panda and Master was dueling for
the last dumpling ... with their chop sticks! Too Cute!!
