MOVIE WEDNESDAY: Nothing Like The Holidays

I was really hoping to see "Australia" today, but it
started somewhat early in the afternoon, and the later
show was too late. Really wanted to see the matinee
but couldnt get out of work early.

The only movie left was "Nothing Like The Holidays".

I thought that this was a sweet movie. But I don't
think I'll be adding it to my DVD collection.

2009 Golden Globes Nominations

My Thoughts On The Golden Globes Nominations:

Its another year of awards ... i try to watch
everything nominated, but i just dont' have that
much time on my hands ~

I have yet to see any of the "Best Picture" nominees,
so I can't say who i think should win ~

I really think MAMMA MIA will win for "Best Musical" ~

I think I'll see what movie wins in the "Best Foreign Film"
then I'll watch it to see if it wins the Oscar.

Heath Ledger SHOULD win for "Best Supporting Actor" ~

BOLT should win for "Best Animated Film"

I have not watched any films in the "Best Screenplay"
category ... which is just SAD, SAD, SAD!

The TELEVISION category:
All I can say is the America Ferrera & Neil Patrick Harris
should win ~

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: Four Christmases

The only reason I wanted to watch this movie was
because Reese Witherspoon was in the movie. I'm
not big on Vince Vaughn.

Anyways, the movie had its funny scenes, however
I could have waited until it got on DVD to rent,
not to keep.

The Tales Of Beedle The Bard

I just got an early Christmas Gift from one of my friends
at work. During one Christmas, he got me the Harry Potter books
when he was my Secret Santa. Today ... he got me JK Rowlings
new book "The Tales Of Beedle The Bard" ~ which just
came out yesterday ~ What a great friend!

Cant wait for The Deathly Hallows to come out in paperback
to complete my collection!!

* No pressure "R" *

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: Twilight

I finally finished the book yesterday, so I wanted to
watch the movie while everything was still fresh in
my mind.

I really enjoyed the movie, but I still like the
Harry Potter series much better.

There are things that I wish they included or didnt
change from what is in the book ~ but I guess everything
worked out fine.

It's December!

This year I plan on sending out REAL Christmas cards ~
and not do any of the e-card giving. I actually LOVE
opening my mail box and finding cards in them.

I think the only "problem" cards I'm going to have
is for my brothers. How many cards to they make of
"To My Brother & His Family" ???

Since I have 5 ~ i hope i don't have to send the same
one. And i don't want to send out the generic assorted
cards to them.

There will probably be a bunch of people that I have
to buy the assorted box cards for ~ i know its easier
for e-cards ~ but i want the "real thing" ~

November Stuff

Tomorrow is December.

I can't believe that it's almost the end of 2008.
This year went by soo fast. I just feel that I
haven't done all the things I wanted to do this year.

No more monthly resolutions for me.

This past week was somewhat in the HIGHS and LOWS.

I missed Thanksgiving dinner with family because of
work. But had Thanksgiving dinner with friends at
work instead. So it was nice...Turkey & mash potato
VS Baked Chicken, Ham, Pot Roast and steamed rice.
No complaints about that ~ But still ...

A friend of mine at work found out that his sister had
died from a car accident (the day before Thanksgiving).
and now her 3 kids are without a mom. My heart goes out
to him and his family.

The day after Thanksgiving, was Black Friday. I passed on
Christmas Shopping this year. But was happy to get the day
off to go to the wedding of one of my former roomates from
Boston. I missed her FIRST wedding in Tennessee. So I'm
glad that she decided to have her SECOND wedding in Los Angeles.
It was nice to see her since I haven't really spent time with
her the past couple of years. She looke extremely beautiful and
happy.

Hopefully December brings more happier stuff ~

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving

I'm thankful for my family & friends.
I'm thankful for my health.
I'm thankful for a place to call "home".
I'm thankful for having a job.

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: Bolt

Bolt

I can't believe I waited soo long to watch this
movie!!

It was the funniest animated movie I've seen in
a long time ~ the HAMSTER deserves some kind of
"best comedic performance" nomination!!! :-)

Will definitely buy this for my collection.

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: Eagle Eye

I kept pushing back watching this movie, since
I wasn't really interested in the storyline.

But I actually enjoyed it. This might actually
be part of my DVD collection.

The one thing that I didnt like ... thank god it
happened in the end, but I wish it didnt happened
at all ~ was the kiss between the two characters.
BLAH! Where did that come from ~

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: The Secret Life Of Bees

This was the only "good" movie that was out that
I didnt watch yet. I probably could have waited
until it came out on DVD ~ but was still nice to
watch.

Window Waterfall

This morning I woke up and noticed that water was
dripping from my bathroom window. I became paranoid
because I noticed the water LAST NIGHT before I went
to bed.

I remember this happening before when my upstairs
neighbor would take a shower. But I think this was
dripping overnight.

I knew I should have written a maintenace request
a long time ago. It probably got worse. Anyways,
I called the apartment manager about the problem,
and she mentioned it might be because the "solar
panels" ~

When I got home, no more dripping.

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: Nick and Norah

While I enjoyed watching this movie, I probably should
have waited until it went out on DVD to rent.

There was some funny moments, interesting characters,
and some good music too. The whole "gum" scenero,
EWW ~

I was kinda hoping Nick and Norah would have waited
much longer before they ... I mean, he was still
obsessing about his ex just a couple of hours ago.

If they just had that passionate "New York Kiss",
I would have like that much better.

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: Beverly Hills Chihuahua

I wasn't planning on watching this movie, but all the
"good" ones were playing at a later time, so this was
the only choice.

BUT I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS MOVIE.

The dogs were sooooo cute!!!

Loved the story ~ Loved the "supporting" humans ~ and
Loved the rat and iguana (you have to had watched it)!

This makes me want to get a puppy!!

Shows In Trouble

Yahoo TV posted 5 shows in trouble and
one of them was no suprise to me, but
the others, I am hoping will not have a
problem.

1. Do Not Disturb
* This was not a suprise!! The pilot episode
was awful. I didnt even bother watching the
rest of the shows that aired

2. Opportunity Knocks
* I didnt even bother watching this show

3. Pushing Daisies
* WHAT?!?! Not possible ... this is an
AMAZING show ~

4. Valentine
* OK ... now this is one of my favorite
shows ... CW better not yank it off the air.

5. Easy Money
* Another show that I have no idea what it
is about ...

The Ex List: surfer boy

I think I like this "Ex" ~ and Bella
puts a question mark too ...

One "little" suggestion I want to make
is to put some "equal" time for the
rest of the cast. I haven't seen anything
really interesting with Daphne.

Love that kiddie pool ~

Apartment Repairs

Thank goodness for the maintenance guys that did
work in my apartment!

1. no more dripping kitchen faucet
2. new paint in my bathroom window
3. living room window is fixed
4. my front door closes easily!!

they did soo much. im soo glad. i dont know which
one im most happy about. the new paint on my bathroom
window. or not having to struggle to close my front
door. i also no longer have to cringe when i open
and close my living room window. the wood that was
breaking apart was sealed. They fixed it all!!

Great job guys!!

Notice To Enter Dwelling: Part 2

Today there was a "notice to enter dwelling" posted
on my door. The reason was "to make necessary or
agreed repairs, decorations, alterations, or
imporvements."

I'm just hoping the minor drip in my kitchen faucet
is what they are going to fix.

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: The Duchess

This was the only movie that seemed interesting
to watch this week.

It was alright ...

The cinematography and costumes were the only
things that I "enjoyed" .... other than seeing
the Dutchess hair catch on fire!

Nine

On Oct. 19, 1999 my father died.

It's been 9 years and I still remember details
from that day as if it just happened.

I was sleeping in, I usually get up around NOON
to go to work. Back then, I was working at a
theatre as an assistant manager, and work usually
started at 3pm. I had to wait for my niece to
get out of classes and take me to work.

The phone was constantly ringing, and when the
answering machine went on ... no one left a msg.

I finally got up to take a shower, I knew my
niece would be home (we were both renting rooms
from a family) soon. When I was done, and
stepped out of the bathroom, she was home, on
the phone...CRYING.

My sister in law and called ... and gave us the
bad news that my dad had a heart attack. He was
in the hospital in the ICU. They were waiting
for some kind of change in him.

I felt numb ... couldn't stay home ... had to
go to work. So I told my niece to call me or
come to work with any new news.

The whole entire night, I couldn't concentrate
on anything. Finally when it was almost time
to get out of work, my niece came to the theatre
and told me the news.

He died.

My younger sister in Guam called also. She said
"he's not here anymore" ... all I could do was cry.
My co-worker Sarah was trying to console me. Some of
the guys were quiet. Not knowing what to do.

I went home and heard several msgs left on the machine.
Relatives had found out about my dad and gave their
condolences. The mother and daugher we were renting
our rooms from tried to talk to us about them also
losing their husband~father.

Some many things have happened in the last 9 years
that I wish my dad was a part of. My graduation
from Grad School, my mom's 75th birthday, the birth
of his first GREAT-GRANDCHILD, the birth of his other
GRANDCHILDREN ... and more ...

I miss him ... but I know he is watching over my family.

The Ex List: the cop

I'm still enjoying this show!!

I actually enjoy the soundtrack as well,
when they do the fashbacks to the year
that belle and "boy" were dating.

MOVIE WEDENSDAY: Ghost Town

Ghost Town

Last week I was sick and could'nt watch a movie.
I was planning on using the free ticket I earned
from the AMC Movie Watcher Club.

Today I decided to watch Ghost Town. I love
fantasy movies ... and I somewhat knew that
it was basically that this guy needed to help
the ghosts in order for them to move on.

** SPOILER ALERT ***

When Ricky Gervais gets hit by the bus. I screamed!
Did not see that coming at all!! But was glad that
it did move the story forward.

I don't think I'd buy the DVD, If I get a free offer
with Columbia House, mabye I'd pick this as a selection.
Or ... once again ... getting this as a gift would be nice.

The Ex List: the outdoor guy

Second episode and I'm enjoying every bit.

One small bit that I love about the character
is that she's 33 too!! But I was thinking,
if she is suppose to find "the one" in a year,
does that mean that the show is done in a season!?!

I love the whole "drinking" game that
the supporting cast had with each other.

Very funny script.

Nothing To Read

went back to the post office

am tempted to read something else in
my library ~ but dont know what I'll

i was looking forward on reading the new
Nicholas Sparks book ~ went to the post office
but my box was empty!!

I like visiting the post office just so i could

Monday.

The Ex List

The Ex List

This is an absolutely ADORABLE show!!

I wasn't sure if I wanted to watch, but kinda
curious about the premise. Now I think its going
to be a favorite of mine.

I'm not sure if it was because of the "bitch"
song ... or the quirkyness of the Psychic ...
or the friendship (i sorta thought the whole
openess of one character flashing her brazillian
was stange) ... but this is a cute show.

I'm going to love Friday TV night!

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: Nights In Rodanthe

I love Nicholas Sparks books ~

I'm always hesitant when movies comes out based on
his books.

I was not disappointed in this movie. Sure, there
could have been more ... but was not disappointed.

I already knew what was going to happen in the end,
but I still cried. Maybe it was James Franco
crying ... but I cried ... and that means that this
movie was good.

nights in rodanthe

I can't wait to get the new Nicholas Sparks book:
The Lucky One. I've already got an email saying
that it was shipped. So can't wait ... should be
here by Saturday!

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: The Women

I was really looking forward to this movie because
it was starring Meg Ryan. I decided not to read
any of the reviews and the only thing I new about
this was it was based on an original and also no
men appear in the movie. Any other info I knew was
based on what was shown on the previews.

I thought it was O.K. ~ I just wished that Debra
Messing and Jada Pickett Smith had more to do ~
what a waste of their talent.

Meg Ryan ... as always ... adorable.

9 to 5: The Musical

Wednesday is usally movie night, but I got free
tickets to 9 to 5: The Musical and was happy to
have theatre night instead.

It was amazing!!

Megan Hilty (from Wicked) was FANTASTIC as Doralee,
Im sure she made Dolly Parton proud.

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: Hamlet 2

This movie had some really funny moments, and there
were the really corny moments. But I'm glad that I
actually watched it.

The only thing that annoyed me was that David Arquette
could have more dialog and why did he had to be the guy
that left with the wife. Elizabeth Shue was funny as
herself as well.

It was slow paced as times ... and I wished they
actually showed more of the musical scenes. I don't
know if I'll buy this for my collection, but I would
not mind if I got it as a GIFT.

Hamlet 2

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: Vicky.Cristina.Barcelona

Vicky.Cristina.Barcelona

I was planning on watching HAMLET 2 today, but because
I had plans later on, had to catch a earlier movie. The
only one available at 4:00pm was VICKY, CRISTINA, BARCELONA.

I love Woody Allen films, so I didn't mind going to
see this movie, and HAMLET 2 next week.

I thought this movie was alright. I liked MATCH POINT much
better. Woody Allen must really like Scarlett Johansson to
put her in this movie too.

I thought that it's kinda strange that Rebecca Hall (Vicky)
isn't even in the movie poster ... but Penelope Cruz is.
Maybe its because she wasn't par of the "threesome" ~

Overall, if you're a Woody Allen fan, go out and see
this movie. If not, it is still worth a DVD rental.

90210

90210

I was a fan of the original series ... was looking forward to see
how this new version will be like ... and ... from the words of
someone's post:

It was "CRAPTASTIC"

It wasn't great ... BUT it wasn't bad either.

Things That I Enjoyed Watching:
1. Brenda & Kelly Reunion
2. Nat still in the Peach Pit
3. The Hannah Zuckerman-Vazquez "moment"

Things That Annoyed Me:
1. The NEW Peach Pit
2. The Acting
3. Some characters (Naomi & Adrianna)

I could go on ... but what for!! I'm probably going to
watch next week ... just to see Kelly's mom ... and
maybe get some more "history" of the characters.

Unless the writers create something "magical" like
Brenda-Dylan in these characters and storylines,
I won't be watching.

Wednesday, August 27, 2008

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: The House Bunny

The House Bunny

Okaaay ... so I really don't know why I went to see this
movie. Just that I "needed" to see a movie today, and
since it was a comedy ... "why not"

There was "some" funny scenes ... but the writing
and acting annoyed me. EXAMPLE: Katherine McPhee
DID NOT HAVE TO BE IN THIS MOVIE (AND HER CHARACTER)

So this kinda "stupid-funny" movie is something
you should wait until the DVD to comes out ~

Wednesday, August 20, 2008

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: Brideshead Revisited

Brideshead Revisited

I've never read the book.
I've never heard of some of the actors.
I had no idea what the subject-storyline was about.

I just wanted to watch a movie today (my wednesday ritual),
and this was the only thing that seemed "interesting".

When I gave my AMC MOVIE WATCHERS card, I was happy
that on top of my free WEDNESDAY POPCORN, I was also
entitled to a free drink. Lucky me!!

Now about the movie ~ hmmm ~ I really dont know how
I can comment about this ... I didnt think it was
AWFUL ... maybe it ran long ... somewhat bored at
times. But I guess it was a "good" movie .. sort of ~

Wednesday, August 13, 2008

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: Swing Vote

Swing Vote

I wasn't sure I would like this movie, after watching MUMMY RETURNS
last week, without reading reviews ... etc ... I didn't want to feel
like I've wasted my Wednesday ~

BUT I REALLY ENJOYED THIS MOVIE!!

The script was well written!! Loved the Acting!!

I had a feeling that the movie was going to end in a
particular way .. and it did ... and Im glad it was
what i thought.

This might possibly be part of my DVD collection!

Wednesday, August 06, 2008

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: The Mummy Returns

Mummy Returns

I think I should have read reviews of this movie
before I watched it (or would not have watched it),
but I was GRAVELY disappointed!!

There are several things that I wish was changed:
1. WHY CHANGE EVIE (to MARIA BELLO)
2. THEY HAVE A 20-SOMETHING SON (which make they how old?)
3. THOSE MOUNTAIN "MONSTERS" (i forget what they are called)

The storyline was "blah" ~ the action was "OK" ~ the only
thing that I enjoyed was seeing MICHELLE YEOH AND RUSSELL WONG!!

Wednesday, July 30, 2008

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: Get Smart

Get Smart

I wasn't sure if I really wanted to pay $9.50 for
this movie ... but we watched everything else that
was out ... and I really wanted to see a movie today,
so ... GET SMART ... was the only "interesting" choice.

I actually enjoyed the movie ... only 3 of us in
the theatre ... ofcourse ... this movie was out
for awhile!!

Wednesday, July 23, 2008

MOVIE WEDNESDAY: The Dark Knight

Dark Knight

This was a FANTASTIC MOVIE!!

I could go on and on but you just HAVE to see
it to enjoy yourself!

I loved to hate the joker!! Heath Ledger was
fantastic!

I needed to use the restroom about 30 more minutes
until the movie was over ... but I just HELD "it"!!
I found out that the theatre sold VITAMIN WATER for
$1.00 for "AMC Movie Watcher" members, I just drank
too much with my popcorn and Bunch Crunch ... had to
have my usual movie snacks!!

Anyways...GO OUT AND SEE THIS MOVIE!! Don't even
think about going on a restroom break...you'll miss
alot...every minute was worth it!

Mamma Mia!

Mamma Mia

I absolutely loved this musical!! Will most definitely buy
this for my collection.

Thanks to PONDS for the free "Movie Money" tickets!! We had
to go to the ArcLight Cinemas to use the tickets ~ really nice
theatre ... never been there before ... and the popcorn was
worth the price (usually get it free at AMC) ~

Go out and see this ... you'll have a great time!

Movie Wednesday: Hancock

hancock

When I saw the previews of this movie, I thought it
seemed too "over the top" ... but then some of my
friends told me that they actually enjoyed the movie.

I had free movie passes so I didn't mind watching
this without spending anything.

I did infact enjoy this movie!!!

A friend of my told me about the "twist" regarding
Charlize Theron, so I was waiting for the moment
they revealed her super powers.

Anyways ... there are things that I wish were explained,
but I guess the movie was "fine" the way it is.

Wednesday, July 09, 2008

Movie Wednesday: Wall-E

A friend of mine had told me that he saw
this movie on opening day ... majority of
kids ... and he said they didn't seem too
enthusiastic about the movie.

I decided to watch it today ~ didn't think
it was bad ~ but I wasn't too impressed by
it.

Wall-E (cant make that dot) was cute, and
so was the other robots. There was just
something about the storyline that i felt
lacking.

I'd still buy the DVD ~ just to get the whole
PIXAR collection.

Movie Wednesday: Kung Fu Panda

Photobucket

I decided to sign up for the AMC Movie Watchers
program!!

I finally got the card and the member benefits
information ... Wednesday is "free popcorn" day,
so instead of Movie Mondays ~ I'm going to have
Movie Wednesdays instead. IM SAVING MONEY
NOT PAYING FOR POPCORN. All I need to spend now is
$3.00 for Buncha Crunch. And I have 5 free tickets
so I guess I won't have to worry for a month.

Anyways, I watched Kung Fu Panda and enjoyed it. I really
liked the scene when Panda and Master was dueling for
the last dumpling ... with their chop sticks! Too Cute!!

Movie Monday: Iron Man

Why did i wait soo long to watch this movie!?!?!?!?!!!

It was FANTASTIC!!

LOVED THE STORY ~ LOVED THE ACTION!!

ROBERT DOWNEY JR WAS GREAT!!

MOVIE THURSDAY: Sex and the City

I changed my mind about not seeing movie this week.

Watching The Happening on Friday was a "special"
treat ... I just wanted to contribute to the
opening weekend gross.

Anyways, since I was planning on seeing S.A.T.C.
on Monday, but didnt, because I forgt to bring my ID
with me ... I watched it today!!

SPOILER ALERT:

sex and the city

I enjoyed it ... I really thought that the wedding
would never happen. But I'm glad it went the way
the movie ended.

Laughed at the whole Charlotte "pooping" situation ~
Would have wanted more sex from Samantha ~
Hated the separation between Miranda and Steve ~
Cried when Carrie saw her "love letter" emails &
when she and BIG both went to "their" apartment
for one last time ... and the proposal!!

Movie Monday...Not Today

I was planning on watching Sex and the City today,
but I didnt have my ID on me!! Had my credit cards
but no drivers license. I was planning on watching
another movie ~ not R-Rated ~ but since I saw two
movies last week ... it might be best to see the film
next monday.

I wonder if I would have been carded for the R-Rating,
or asked for my ID for paying with a credit card. The
same person seems to be working the Box Office. Once
at the concession stand, I wasn't asked for my ID.

I keep thinking, this is why I would hate to lose my
cards ~ people can just hand over a card and it'll
be swiped!!

So Kudos to the person at the Box Office who asks
me for my ID !!

The Happening - Part 2

Congrats to M. Night Shyamalan!!

$30,500,000 Gross for the weekend!!

I've been reading some reviews over the internet, negative
and positive. I'm not much for gory movies, I usually
feel unsettled with bloody scenes and body parts cut
off ... but with his movie ... I didnt even feel grossed
out when someone was letting lions eat his arms off
(it happens)!!

Anyways ~ M.Night said he made this as a "B-Movie" / so
thats what we got ... a campy "B-Movie" ... which i
really liked. I thought the scene with Marky Mark
talking to a plastic plant was HILARIOUS!! And the
scene with his wife when he said the was flirting
with a pharmacist was funny too.

Not "The Sixth Sense" ~ THANK GOD THAT WILL NEVER BE
DUPLICATED ... BECAUSE THAT WAS A KICK ASS MOVIE!!

CRITICS: Please stop starting your reviews with ..
"the man who wrote-directed sixth sense" ... and just
think of him as a writer-director. That's why you
dont get his movies ... your too busy looking for
a SIXTH SENSE: PART 2, 3, 4, 5 ~ That would be
a real disappointment.

Congrats ... I might actually see this movie again.

The Happening

Here it goes.

M. Night Shyamalan is basically my favorite Writer-Director

When the critics blasted Lady In The Water, I thought they
were just being MEAN, I enjoyed that movie!!

I've only seen some of the trailers for this movie,
and was excited to see what the story was going to be
about ... and see if there will be a "twist" ...
and if he was going to appear in the movie as usual.

I was semi-scared thinking this could be somekind
of "horror" genre ~ BUT IT WASNT ~ nothing close.

Anyways ... I decided to go on opening night ... to
support the weekend box office gross ~

WELL ... I'm glad I went ... It was "interesting" ...
I just wish THE HAPPENING WAS EXPLAINED ... and that
there would have been a "REAL" ending.

I SCREAMED DURING ONE SCENE (OLD LADY)
I THOUGHT ONE SCENE WAS QUITE DISTURBING (SHOTS FIRED AT KIDS)

Somewhat disappointed ... but I'm not going to beat
down M. Night ~

I stayed for the credits ... and saw my TWIST ... and
ofcourse ... in his own way ... M. Night did "appear"
in the move.

WHEN (IF) YOU WATCH THE MOVIE ... YOU'LL KNOW
WHAT I JUST MEANT ~

Vitamin Charge

Ralphs had another Vitamin Water "sale" ~ $1 each!!

This time i was able to get the CHARGE flavor ~

I guess it reminded me of the Lemon-Lime Gatorade's
but the flavor wasn't as noticeable. But it still
tasted nice.

happened? it's like saving the world is a huge
hassle or something? no one wants to take
charge anymore and there's just lots of finger
pointing and "he said she said". not to mention
vests to stop speeding bullets, elevators for tall
buildings and villains running amuck (insert evil
laugh here).

that's where we come in. the b vitamins and
electrolytes in here will unleash your inner
superhero and give you what you need to take
charge of any situation. and when you do finally
ink that contract with the justice league,
remember the biggest perk of all...underoos.

"Sold" VS "Off Market"

I'm determined to get "The House" !!

So I checked the S.B. website and it's still listed.
Which makes me happy... since if this was a sale, she
would have marked it as "SOLD" ~ this probably was
something recent as well (going OFF the market).

Then I checked the R.M. website and it's listed
as "Off Market" ~ she had homes listed as "SOLD"
or "OFF MARKET" ~ AND THIS WASN'T SOLD!!

This brings me to the conclusion that the same people
who are selling are STILL in that home ... MAYBE ...
but it gives me hope that I can walk up to their door
with a suitcase full of $1 million and offer to buy
their home ... thus giving those real estate agents
reason to put a SOLD sign on their website.

Movie Monday: Baby Mama

i wasn't planning on watching this movie until
Ellen Degeneres recommended this on her show ~
She thought that it was really funny ~

I need to see more comedies :-D

Anyways ... i agree ... I did enjoy this movie!
There was 6 and 1/2 people in the theatre ~
someone brought a baby with her ~ thank goodness
that baby was quiet.

There's just something about Tina Fey I really
admire...funny actress...amazing writer...and
she makes wearing glasses "fashionable"...or
maybe its just her picking the right frame for
her face shape.

Baby Mama

"Off The Market"

I finally received an email from S.B. regarding
"The House" ~

"the house is off the market...SORRY"

All I can hope for is that the current owners
took it off the market ... and that its not a
recent sale ... this way ... I can just go to
the owners ... and not have to worry about an
agent ~

But if its a new sale ... I hope the new owners
will be happy if i approach them with a generous
amount of money.

"Currently Sold"

I've been searching online to check if "The House" was
really off the market.

I checked the R.M. website and it was still listed ~
I checked the S.B. website and it was still listed ~
I checked Realtor.Com --> gone

Then I searched by the house address and decided to
go on TRUILA.COM ~ one of the matches found ~ It had
a street picture of the house ... and this notation:

"This house is CURRENTLY SOLD"

I didn't know if that info was current, so I decided
to email S.B. since it was still listed on her website.

Hopefully its still available!

Is That You B.A.G. ??

Today was mail day! My not-so-daily visit to my
Post Office. Anyways, I got my renewal notice for
the box ... its already been six months ... and
still no luck with getting "The House" ... one
reason why I opened up the box ... to be close
to the property!!

Before my usual "house stalking", I decided to go
to the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf ~ I'm still not
that fond of their cafe mocha, so I decided to get
an ice blended Green Tea.

I'm not too sure ... maybe its because of all of
the new 90210 promos on TV ... but I think I
saw Brian Austin Green sitting down. He had
shades on ... but when he spoke to one of the
baristas .. it sounded like him. He took off
his shades for a bit ... and it lookes like him.

I've been trying to look at pictures of him, shirt
off ... or sleeveless .. because this person had
some tattoos on his arm. Wouldn't it be nice if
he lived in the area?!?! B.A.G. could be my
neighbor!!

Anyways ... I got my drink and went on my way to
stand outside "The House" ... when I got there,
the FOR SALE sign was gone!!!!

Did someone buy the house?!?! Did the owners take
it off the market? I've checked two websites and
the property is still listed.

Was it a sign that I got a notice from the Post
office??

Movie Monday: Indiana Jones

I decided to make Mondays ... "Movie Night" !!

Indiana Jones

I've been waiting for the new Indiana Jones
movie to come out ... I was really interested how
they were going to begin the movie with the
transition of the Paramount Pictures mountain (logo)
I really enjoyed that concept since the first film.

Anyways ... it was a fun movie ... there's really
nothing much to say. I'll definitely get it for
my collection.

The only scene that annoyed me was Mutt and the
monkeys swinging from tree to tree. I know that
others would agree with me.

Universal Fire

I woke up around 8:45am and looked out my window
and was surprised to see "clouds" outside ~ I
thought it was a sunny day.

Anyways, I took a shower and dressed for work.
I didnt check the news for the weather, had the
TV on Sponege Bob ~

When I stepped out I looked up at the sky and saw
the grey "clouds" ... but then realized it was
SMOKE ~ I knew that there mus be a fire somewhere.
When I got to the main cross street I saw a HUGE
cloud of smoke ... and I knew it was coming from
Universal Studios.

I saw people just staring and I asked them what
that was ... first thinking that a plane might
have crashed ... but a man said it was the backlot
of Universal ... a soundstage caught on fire.

Now at work .... I find out that the King Kong
attraction is GONE ... and just a couple of days
ago, I took this picture ~

King Kong

I was waiting awhile at my bus stop, looking at
all the debri that "traveled" ~ an MTA car stopped
by and said the bus I was waiting for was re-routed.
He was going to drop me off at the nearest bus stop,
but when he found out that my destination was close
by, he took me all the way to that bus stop, and told
those people that it was going to be LATE. Thought
that it was nice of him ... but kinda felt weird too.

SPA DAY: Part Four

My last spa visit was today!!

The haircut & shampoo was the last item
I had to redeem in the gift certificate.

I told the hairdresser that I wanted a
short cut ... to remove the layers that
I had ... BUT I didn't want a straight
"bob" cut.

So she cut my hair added some layers,
and trimmed my bangs. It's the shortest
cut I've had in awhile.

And ofcourse ... I got water afterwards!

Universal Day

I decided to finally get a day off work today!!

Got free tickets to Universal Studios and was
excited to see the new SIMPSONS ride. I just
wish that it didn't replace the BACK TO THE FUTURE
ride, because it was my favorite one.

Anyways, it was a FUN ride!! But now I have a
preference for THE MUMMY ~

globe

The Universal Globe ... always the first thing
we take photos of.

Kwik.E.Mart

In front of the Kwik E. Mart ~ didn't go inside, so
I don't know what they were selling.

Krustyland Entrance

In line ... for about 20 minutes to get in the
ride itself ~

Anahit, Gloria, Roz

Sponge Bob

We love Sponge Bob!!

Roz In Hollywood

On our way to the backlot tour ~

Overall, it was a nice day off. I got to spend
some time with Anahit and Gloria (and company).

David Cook Wins American Idol!!

Finally!!!

Somone that I've wanted to win, has actually
won this competition!! And of all FINALES
for me NOT to record (or watch, since I went
to the Ahmanson Theatre), it was this one!!!

I found out through the internet, and had to
settle for YouTube clips!

I decided not to blog about the episodes the
whole season ... thinking that the "other"
David will probably win .. vote wise ... I
never "liked" him at all ... didn't see
why everyone was fussing about him, he
has a good voice, nothing spectacular IMHO.

BUT DAVID COOKS PERFERMANCES WAS AMAZING!!
3. i dont want to miss a thing
2. billie jean
1. always be my baby

CONGRATS!

A Chorus Line

Photobucket

I just love shows that deal with Dance!!

Got another invite from the Ahmanson Theatre ... I didn't want to
miss the show ... even though Mario Lopez wasn't going to be
featured, I couldn't pass on a free screening.

Michael Gorman (assistant choreographer) and Nikole Vallins
(casting) are also the nicest people I've met ~

This is a must see musical!!

SPA DAY: Part Three

Today's visit was a half hour Swedish Massage.

It was really nice and relaxing! The person
working on me was also very friendly. She
said she has some Filipino friends and that
they have been teaching her some Tagalog, it
was funny hearing her have a conversation with
me, and I told her that I'm not fluent at all.

My beverage after the massage: water :-D

Tuesday, May 20, 2008

SPA DAY: Part Two

Today I had an appointment for the Eyebrow Threading!

I've gone to ZIBA in the past ... which was about two
years ago ... my brows were in MAJOR need of work to
be done!

Anyways, the person working on my brows was really
nice. She said she loved working on "virgin" brows,
but I informed her I've done it awhile ago ... she
still considered it "too much".

I really LOVED the end result, and forgot how my
brows looked after been groomed. I will definitely
come back to maintain the work.

I was hoping to also get the Royal Parafin Hand Dip
that was listed on the certificate, but I guess that
was probably an additional payment, I was pleased with
what she had done, I didn't want to "point out" what
was on the card.

Sadly ... no complimentary beverage (on the card too)
was offereed to me. But I'm sure it might have been
water too.

Vitamins.Rescue.Sex

I went to Ralphs the other day to buy some
Vitamin Water, it is the only place that had
the Sex And The City "copy" on the bottle
for a limited time for the RESCUE flavor.

Plus the price was 10 for $10 ~ more than
CVS's 77 cents ~ but still a GOOD deal.

Anyways, when I went to the beverage asile,
I FOUND NO "RESCUE" FLAVORS!! All the
"regular" flavors were there. But I was
determined to find ... just one ... so I
moved all of the "B-RELAXED" flavors, where
the "RESCUE" flavors were, the last time I
saw them ... and there were about 5+ bottles
on the way back. Since I'm short, I had to
somewhat tip-toe, and step on the "bottom
shelf to be able to reach that flavor ...
which was in the WAAAAYYYYY BACK of the shelf.

Sadly...I was able to reach for only one. But
that was enough for me.

Is it just us, or does life never cease to amaze
you? your best friend was dumped via text message,
your sister wants you to wear a lime-green
bridesmaid dress (with taffeta ruffles, ofcourse),
and your paparazzi friend posted all those scandalous
pictures online...looks like you need to be rescued.
well, this bottle is backed with vitamin c and egcg
to help keep you from stumbling down the runway of
life. and with our girls carrie, samantha, charlotte,
and miranda making their debut in the big screen, we
thought this might help with some of their "big"
problems (because brunch time discussions don't always
cut it). so drink up, and don't worry about the photos..
they were pictures of your "twin sister," right?

Vitamins for 77 Cents

After checking multiple stores for the cheapest
VITAMIN WATER, I finally decided to go to CVS
and buy from there ... 77 cents per bottle !!

Ralphs had 10 for $10 ~ I'll probably go back just
so I could get "Rescue" ~ with the new "SEX IN THE CITY"
copy on the bottle. That's the only place I could find
it.

The gas stations has the same "regular" flavors,
at $1.50 ++ / I'm just waiting to find the last
4 flavors and I'll be happy.

Anyways ... since I'm walking again ... and in this
California heat (97 degrees!) I only bought five
flavors:

1. Power C
2. Focus
3. XXX
4. Defense
5. Formula 50

Vitamins For Defense

defense

I finally found a store that had DEFENSE Vitamin Water
for a low price ~ CVS Pharmacy!!

It's a raspberry-apple flavor, somewhat reminds me
of POWER. Really nice taste to it.

Four More Flavors To Go!

If you've had to use sick days because
you've actually been sick then you're
seriously missing out, my friends. see,
the trick is to stay healthy and use sick
days to just um, not go in. and this combination
of zinc and fortifying vitamins can help out
with that and keep you healthy as a horse.
so drink up.

remember, don't overdo it on the coughing
and snifflin (big rookie mistake). just
stick with the ever elusive "24-hour bug."
the symptoms are vague and people will
actually encourage you to stay home.

SPA DAY: Part One

In February, I got a gift certificate for a
4-Visit special to a spa in burbank. I sorta
had misplaced it ... and didn't find it until
about a week ago. Since it expires in June,
I have to use it in about two weeks time.

The four visits includes:
1. Cut & Shampoo
2. Mini Cleansing Facial
3. Eyebrow Threading
4. Swedish Massage

Today I decided on the Mini Cleansing Facial, I've
never had a "professional" facial done before
so I was kind of nervous how my skin would
react to the products.

It was actually really nice, and might end up
going again.

The one thing tht disappointed me was that the
visit included a "complimentary beverage", which
I thought would have been something like iced tea.

I got a cup of water. Oh well. The service was
still nice enough for me to tip a $5.

Clogged Sink: Part 2

I woke up at around 2am, needing to go to the restroom,
and heard dripping coming from my kitchen. It was one
of those "dripping sounds" that sounded like the drip
was hitting water ... and not just the sink itself ...
so I go the kitchen ... AND FIND OUT THAT WATER HAD RISEN
AGAIN !!!!

It was 2am ... and I was half-asleep ... I wasn't planning
on dumping the water to and from the sink to my bathroom.
So I went back to bed. Dreading what it'll turn out like
in the morning ... like in 3 hours ...

So I'm still half asleep -- and about 15 minutes later ...
I hear water "draining out" of the sink. I get up, and
check the kitchen to find out that ALL the water had
drained out!!

I was extremely relieved, but I just don't know what
to expect in a daily basis. I don't even know if I should
fill out a work order. If the sink is empty, the maintenance
person will probably think nothing is wrong.

This is why I really need to move!!

Vitamin Water & Lotteries

Tonights Mega Million Lottery is at $166 Million!!

Anyways, as usual, I've been buying my tickets at
the 76 gas station ... across the 7-Eleven that I
used to go ... until someone bought a winning
lottery ticket there!!

Anyways, I thought of checking if the store sold
Vitamin Water ... and they did!! I actually found
DEFENSE!! But It was priced at $1.70 ~ so I passed
on buying it there.

Then I decided to actually go to the 7-Eleven store.
No luck with the Vitamin Water ... they carried just
the "regular" flavors. Anyways, since I was there,
I decided to buy a $1 lottery ticket too.

Who knows, maybe lightning can strike twice.

If I can't find other places that sell DEFENSE, I might
as well pay $1.70 at this gas station.

M.O.H.

I finally got the chance to watch "Made Of Honor" today.

It was a cute movie, kinda "reminded" me of "My Best Friends Wedding."

However, strangely enough, I preferred the ending of M.B.F.W ~ Even
though Julia Roberts didn't get the guy, she was still happy, and
of course, she had Rupert Everett to hang out with.

I guess it was "predictable" that Patrick Dempsey was going to
get the girl. Still don't know if I'll be getting this when it
goes to DVD.

Happy Mothers Day!

Happy Mothers Day:

And to all other MAMAs out there!!

Shoe Shopping

I was in the mood today to go shoe shopping, and Macy's
was advertising a "Spectacular" sale for today. So
I decided to finally buy new boots for work.

BIG MISTAKE!! The shoe department ... EXTREME CHAOS!!
I could not find a single shoe that I liked, shoes were
all over the floor ... I was just dizzy walking around
looking at the floor.

So I went to Sears and Mervyns ... still no luck. Went
to Pay Less ... nothing interested me ... went to all
other shoe stores ... not a single boot worth buying.

This was just a waste of my time. I really hate going
to the mall. I should have just gone online and tried
to find something there!!

Friday, May 09, 2008

Gloria Jeans Cafe Mocha

I'm not too sure ... I might have to go back another
day ... But I might actually prefer this coffee over
Starbucks!!

Most definitely better tasting than Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.

Thursday, May 08, 2008

Working Sink

My sink is working!!

I finally get to wash my dishes and
pots & pans!

I'm just glad water didn't overflow,
that happened last year and I had to
throw out my area carpet.

Wednesday, May 07, 2008

Clogged Sink: Day Two

My sink is still clogged!
And just like last time...water is rising up!

When I left this morning I made sure the sink was empty:
empty

and now ... this is what I came home to!!
full sink

So tomorrow, I'll email these pictures and call the office,
but I just want this fixed ASAP!

Tuesday, May 06, 2008

Clogged Sink!! Again ~

I've got another reason to move out of my apartment!
Once again, my kitchen sink is clogged...and water
is slowly rising again!!

I haven't even used the sink for two days!! And now,
right after dinner, I couldn't wash because the sink
was clogged. Not much water, but this morning, it
rose up just "a bit" ~

I turned in a Maint Request form this morning, just
wondering how soon it'll be fixed!!

A friend of mine let me use his Westside Rentals account
to find an apartment, it turns out that the apartments
right next to my bus stop was listed!!

Studio / $725 a month / Fridge / Laundry on site / paid
partial utilities / Air Conditioner / 1 YEAR LEASE ~

The price is nice ~ just hoping the place is LARGER than
my current studio ~ Also, I don't know if it is too late
to tell my Apt. Manager that I'll leave on June, or if
this Apt. will still be available in July ~

Monday, May 05, 2008

Hazelnut Ice Coffee

I finally used up my coupon from McDonalds ~

It expires today too!!

Anyways, I decided to get the "Hazelnut" flavor,
It wasn't bad...but I wasn't impressed by the taste.
It was kinda strong
for me ... and I couldn't finish it as well. The
Medium size was just too much. I don't think I'll
be going back to try a different flavor as well.

I'll just stick to their chocolate shake!

Sunday, May 04, 2008

Matthew

Happy "BIRTH" day ~

Welcome to the world MATTHEW !! Another nephew for me!!
The 17th grandchild for my mom: 10 girls / 7 boys

Matthew Hidalgo

Coconut Cream Coffee

I was saving my free medium Ice Coffee coupon from
McDonalds for today. But when I got there, there
was a LONG LINE!! I guess I need to use it tomorrow,
since it expires.

Anyways, I decided to go to the Donut Prince and
get my usual Hawaiian Hazelnut, but right next
to the pump I saw a new flavor: Coconut Cream!!

Since I didn't get to try the coffee from McDonalds,
this would be a nice "new drink of the day" ~

The coffee was nice. But I still prefer my "usual" ~
Hopefully I don't get disappointed with the "McDs"
coffee.

In Search For the Best Coffee

I love how the baristas in my "regular" Starbucks
say hi to me by my name ... and know that I take
whipped cream with my Cafe Mocha, or Green Tea Frap.

But since I'm thinking of moving, I need to find an
apartment thats on my bus route, and that has a "decent"
coffee place nearby.

I seem to really favor going to Starbucks. I've tried
the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, good drinks but not as
good as Starbucks. There is somewhat a different
"after-taste" to CB&TF ~

I'm on a mission to try all these different coffee
shops, and see how well their Cafe Mochas/G.T. Frapp
and other flavored drinks measures up.

Friday, May 02, 2008

Vitamin Water & Sex

It's been awhile since I've bought different flavors
of Vitamin Water ... I usually go for FOCUS and POWER.
Ralphs had another 10 for 10 sale, so I decided to go
for FOCUS, POWER, and XXX ~ I'm still waiting to find
the last five flavors that I didn't try yet:

1. Defense
2. Balance
3. Endurance
4. Vital-T
5. Charge

Anyways, so I'm sipping on some XXX and I noticed the
design and "story" on the bottle has changed ... its a
tribute to Sex and the City!

just like our girl carrie would wonder...are healthy
relationships and healthy diets really that different?
sometimes you can't help but fall for the bad boy or
at least agree to sample the dessert tray, but does
either ever have a healthy outcome? is it possible to have
both - the excitement of the naughty with the benefits of
the nice? well, we'll leave the relationship advice to
carrie, samantha, charlotte and miranda, but we can help
with some insight into healthy lifestyles. and with the
ladies of sex and the city back looking for the next "big"
thing, we thought we'd add even a little more xxx to the
silver screen - as in triple antioxidants from acai,
blueberries, and pomegranate. so think of them as a love
triangle without the drama.

** 30 may be the new 20, but green is definitely
the new black. please recycle. **
NEW TOO!!

March & April Hiatus

I'm back!!

I know that I've should have just written once in awhile
the last two months ... but soo much has been going on.

Mostly my "other" writing project ~

But I'll try to make it up by posting DAILY (really), maybe
even TWICE a day ~ or just daily with LOTS AND LOTS of info.
So hopefully I don't have any boring days.

It's the first of the month!

I must try to exercise daily ~ read & write daily ~ and
maybe watch an "interesting" DVD daily. I wish I could go
out and take pictures and post a "PHOTO OF THE DAY" ~ but
that would just take too much thinking on how to connect my
camera to the computer I'm using. I should consider a
"Photo of the Week" OR "A Week In Pictures" ~

This is a NEW MONTH!! New Beginnings!

When I came home from work, there was a letter posted on my
door. My rent goes up to $815 in July!!! Since I don't want
to be living in the same studio/cubicle for that price I'm
going to have to do some apartment hunting!! I hate moving,
but seriously, I might find a BETTER place for a lower price,
or same price!

WISH ME LUCK!

Wicked Birthday

Photobucket

After MONTHS of asking for tickets for this show
I finally got it as a birthday gift!!

Thanks a bunch "guys" and "gals" ;-P !!

Loved the seats too!! What I thought was row VV was
actually row W ~ I wish the person seated next to
me told me I was on her seat (she sat next to me
for about 10 minutes until a couple sat down and
said she was on their seat. Then she realized I
was on hers ... and when I checked my ticket, she
said I had the better row!!

I guess old age has caught up with my eyesight!

Anyways ... liked the book ... but loved the
musical. The ending to the show, MUCH different
from the book.

Love it! Loved it! Go out and see this show!!
And knowing how the stage looks from my seats,
I might change my mind on future shows.

20s Tomorrow ~

I've decided to take out 10 years from my age and
just tell people I'm in my 20s.

So basically, I'm going to tell people I'm 23. Then
next year ... 24 ....

But at year 35 ~ I'll tell people that I'm 35 ~ just
to see how shocked they'll be.

Tax Refund

Finally!

After a month of filing my taxes, the check finally
came. AND THAT WAS A SURPRISE TO ME. The check was
in the mail ~ not directly deposited to my checking.

Apparently there was something wrong with the numbers,
and they couldn't deposit the money. I don't know what
it would have been. Maybe they couldn't understand my
handwriting.

Now ... all I have to wait is for April ... and I'll
be making a PAYMENT for my State Taxes.

Friday, February 08, 2008

No Tengo Dinero

Still no tax refund deposited.

Did not win the mega million lottery draw.

One More Week

Just ONE more week and I'm 33!!

All I ask is for WORLD PEACE ~

If I can't have that, then getting THE HOUSE
would be GREAT!!

If that's not possible, tickets to WICKED
would be nice.

Ash Wednesday

I'm a sinner!!

1. Ate meat for lunch
2. Had chocolate (was going to give up for Lent)
3. DID NOT GET MY ASHES

Bills At the Post Office

Since Saturday was "Babysit Nates Day" ~ I had to wait
until today to go to the Post Office. I kinda felt
bummed that I had only one mail:

* American Express Bill

I'm trying to remember how many cards I was able to
change the mailing address to. I know that my MC
was only good for a "home" mailing address.

I've been waiting for my "RED ENVELOPE" AND "GAIAM"
catalogs ... but they haven't arrived yet. I think
I'll go online again and "request catalog" ~

I don't know yet if I want to have packages sent to
the P.O. Box yet ... I usually have it sent to my
work ... I guess I don't have to go on Saturday.

Dance War: Week 5

Goodbye Tony!!

Team Carrie Ann - 6
Team Bruno - 4

I'm really disappointed that these performers
are leaving!! Why in the world did the producers
create this kind of eliminations for two groups
of 6 ~

With Dancing With The Stars and So You Think You Could Dance,
there were multiple couples competing against each other.

With this kind of voting and eliminations, there is no balance.
I'm also kind of confused about how the outcome can be. If
Team Bruno wins the next two weeks, then there will be a tie.
If Team Carrie Ann wins AGAIN, then why bother with another
episode, they already have a outnumbered team. Do they bring
back the eliminated members to form the "winning team" ?? Or
is it just the remaining team members?!?!

There should have been a weekly POINT SYSTEM. Everyone stays
in the team. And at the end of the season, the team with the
most points wins. Also, there really should have been outside
judges, not just the call-in system.

Anyways, here is my voting.

TB - 1ST SONG - 3 CALLS
TB - 2ND SONG - 3 EMAILS

TCA - 1st Song - 2 CALLS
TCA - 2nd Song - 2 EMAILS

13 Days Until Im 33

I don't feel like celebrating this year ~

I really think this is just going to be an ordinary day. This will
be the first time that I'll be working on my birthday. I'm trying to
save as much as I can for "the surprise".

Anyways here is my bday wish list:
1. Tickets to see "Wicked"
2. Complete Series of "Gilmore Girls OR My So Called Life"
3. Sony Reader Digital Book
4. Canon SLR Camera
5. VW Beetle Convertable
6. "The House"
7. World Peace
